Tension erupted in Idomeni, Thursday, when the Greek farmer Lazarus Oulis, owner of 72,000 square metres (775,000 square feet) of agricultural land, ploughed the area where hundreds of refugees have set up their tents. The Russian Arctic National Park released video, Wednesday, showing what it believes are the remains of a World War II-era Nazi meteorological station called the 'Schatzgraber' or 'Treasure Hunter'. Around 500 artefacts were discovered on Alexandra Land in the middle of August 2016, with the expedition ending in October. Expedition members say the findings have significant historical value, after they unearthed pieces of military uniforms, ammunition, household objects, and meteorological equipment. UN: "We are not gays" - Mugabe shocks the UN General Assembly

02:43
"We are not gays," President of Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe told the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Monday. "We reject attempts to prescribe new rights that are contrary to our values, norms, traditions and beliefs," he said. The comment drew gasps and laughter from the delegates. However, Mugabe - who led the militant Zimbabwe Afircan National Union against white minority rule in Rhodesia the 1960s and 1970s - also drew applause from the audience after he reiterated his nation's "unwavering" support towards the Palestinian people as well as his condemnation of "destabilisation" policies from outside powers in the Middle East. Discussing the ongoing tragedy in the Mediterranean, the "tragic situation could have been avoided through the respect of the independence of other countries and non-interference in internal affairs," the 91-year-old Zimbabwean leader added. Austria: Refugees are no longer allowed to drink in this Bad Ischl bar

02:39
The owner of Charly's bar in Austria's Bad Ischl, Karin Siebrecht-Janisch, has decided to ban refugees from her premises after a number of cases of alleged harassment by foreign male customers as explained by her interview to Ruptly on Friday. On Fridays and Saturdays, patrons will now have to fork out €2 ($2.20) to enter because "the refugees don't have the money to pay two euros," according to Siebrecht-Janisch. Siebrecht-Janisch also reported that one of her female staff members was groped by "four or five refugees" on New Year's Eve and has since identified suspects at a local police station. She also said that female customers have been followed to the toilets by foreign males. Charly's bar's boss has hired two members of security staff to enforce her new policy. She also called on refugees to "agree with the living standards in Austria." A rip-roaring time! LION breaks into tourist vehicle on Crimea safari tour

01:53
Subscribe to our channel! rupt.ly/subscribe A lion jumped into an open vehicle full of tourists in an apparent attempt to get better acquainted with the guests at Safari Park Taigan, in Crimea's Belogorsk on Sunday. The tourists appeared unperturbed when a favourite of the park, Filya, decided to take over the driving for a bit. Taking the driver’s seat, Filya tried to push the driver out. But it seemed no one trusted the big cat's driving skills, so he pushed the passengers out too after they had petted and hugged him. After much coaxing and cajoling Filya was eventually removed from the vehicle and the tour party continued on its way. Syria: Russian sappers and Uran-6 robot detonate IEDs in Aleppo

03:11
Russian sappers continued to clear residential areas of eastern Aleppo of explosive devices on Wednesday, after a big land mine was found in an old truck in Bustan al-Qasr. The area was evacuated after a group of sappers from the International Mine Action Centre found a tube filled with 300 kilograms (661 pounds) of TNT that was controlled by radio signal. The Head of the International Mine Action Centre of the Russian Armed Forces, Igor Mikhailik, stated, that, "with the help of special equipment the radio signal was muffled and sappers neutralised this explosive device." He noted that, "the vehicle was prepared as a ‘jihad-mobile,’ placed in a densely populated area and was designed to be blown up during the afternoon, when there is a large number of both cars and local residents." Russian sappers continued the mine clearance operation in residential areas, while the robotic Uran-6 complex inspected the city’s outskirts where it detonated explosives. The squad of the International Mine Action Centre of the Russian Armed Forces arrived at the Hmeymim airbase in Latakia on December 3. The group reportedly includes specialists that previously took part in mine clearance operations in the Syrian city of Palmyra. Egypt: Mummified cats, scarab beetles discovered in ancient tombs near Cairo

03:55
Subscribe to our channel! rupt.ly/subscribe Seven ancient Egyptian tombs containing mummified cats and scarabs, have been discovered in the Saqqara necropolis, 30 km (19mi) south of Cairo, according to an announcement by Egypt's Minister of Antiquities Khaled El-Enany on Saturday. Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, Dr Mostafa Waziri, said he believes this is the first time the preserved insects have ever been found, saying "we asked museums in many countries if they have mummified scarabs, but no one have mummified scarabs till today." Three of the tombs, which date back to the New Kingdom period and are between 3500 and 3000 years old, appear to have been used for feline burial as dozens of mummified moggies were discovered within, as well as wooden cat statutes and representations of the cat goddess Bast. The other four tombs are believed to date from the Old Kingdom period and are thus at least 4000 years old. A motorcycle able to travel up to 500 kilometres (310 miles) on a litre of water was trumpeted by creator Ricardo Azevedo in Sao Paulo, Monday. Called the 'T Power H20,' the design features a combination of water and a single, external car battery used to produce electricity and separate the hydrogen from the water molecule. As you know and I already said about this publicly, at one time I also worked in construction brigades and received the a carpenter certificate of the fourth category. And I am very proud of it."
