Big Agnes Fly Creek UL2 Tent Review

06:01
Big Agnes Fly Creek UL2 Tent Review I purchased the Big Agnes Fly Creek UL2 right before my Pacific Crest Trail trip. I set it up once in my backyard before taking it on the trail, and I loved it immediately. My love for this tent grew rapidly throughout the 18 night backpacking trip, and I wouldn't recommend another tent to anyone! Osprey Kyte 46L Backpack Review

Osprey Kyte 46L Backpack Review- I purchased the Osprey Kyte 46 liter backpack a few months ago. Once I had all of my gear for the PCT, I decided to take it out on a test run, and even after hiking a few miles, I knew this pack was not for me. Backpacking The Strawberry Mountain Wilderness | Day 1

04:18
Backpacking The Strawberry Mountain Wilderness | Day 1 In mid-September I went backpacking in the Strawberry Mountain Wilderness which is in the Malheur National Forest here in Oregon. This was an absolutely amazing 2 day trip and I had so much footage from our hikes that I broke this up into a two part video. Here is Day 1 of our trip. On the 14th we drove to the town of Prairie City and camped and the next morning drove up to the Strawberry Lake trailhead. We hiked to the lake and set up camp really quickly and then went on our first day hike to Slide Lake and High Lake. As you can see in the video, the scenery is absolutely stunning and we could see the state of Idaho in the distance (only 2 hours from us at that point). Emotional Solo Hike | Olallie Butte I hiked Olallie Butte on the last day of my vacation, right after coming off a few weeks on the Pacific Crest Trail in August 2016. Hiking at Siltcoos Lake, Florence Oregon- I took my siblings on this awesome and easy 4.25 mile hike near Florence on December 18, 2016. We enjoyed this loop in the old-growth coast range forest very much, and checked out some campsites at the banks of Siltcoos Lake. Gear And Base Weight Shaming

Gear And Weight Shaming- We have no idea what sort of reaction this video is going to get. The point of this video is purely to bring to light the subject of weight and gear shaming. We want people to know that it's out there and to watch out for it and not to fall into the trap of just focusing on the weight of the gear but also focus on the quality and the purpose of the gear item. Backpacking Up To Broken Top Crater

13:24
Backpacking Up To Broken Top Crater- On September 15, 2017 we wanted to backpack 11 miles over to my favorite place in the world, Golden Lake and spend the night there. Unfortunately the ranger at the trailhead told us that the Nash Fire was only about 3 miles away and it was not recommended that we hike to Golden Lake because we could get stuck there if the fire decided to migrate downhill. So our second choice was a 7 mile hike up to Broken Top crater, and we spent the night at No Name Lake. Oregon Pacific Crest Trail | What I'm Bringing | NOT Ultra Light

11:05
Oregon Pacific Crest Trail | What I'm Bringing From August 3rd, 2016 to August 18th, 2016 I will be doing a portion of the Oregon section of the Pacific Crest Trail. These are the things that I am taking on the trip. I am by NO means ultra light or trying to be ultra light. I know many things I am bringing are luxuries to most backpackers. This is my first time backpacking since I was a kid and had my dad pack for me, so I am seeing what gear works and doesn't work for me. If I end up re- falling in love with backpacking, I will most likely pair down my gear significantly before my next backpacking trip. Backpacking Into Jefferson Park- On August 11th, 2018 I took 3 of my friends to Jefferson Park for the meteor shower. The first day it was cloudy and a little sad because we couldn't see Mt. Jefferson, but the second day it was glorious blue skies with lots of great views. Backpacking The Strawberry Mountain Wilderness | Day 2-3

09:26
Backpacking The Strawberry Mountain Wilderness | Day 2-3 In mid-September I went backpacking in the Strawberry Mountain Wilderness which is in the Malheur National Forest here in Oregon. This was an absolutely amazing 2 day trip and I had so much footage from our hikes that I broke this up into a two part video. Here is Day 2 and 3 of our trip. On the 14th after work we drove to the town of Prairie City and camped and the next morning drove up to the Strawberry Lake trailhead. See what we did on Day 1 of our trip here: https://youtu.be/lSNyxsBiML8 On day 2 we hiked to Strawberry Falls, Little Strawberry Lake and then we summited Strawberry Mountain. After that we did a partial loop over to Wildcat Basin and saw Strawberry Mountain from a totally different side than from where we approached from. We arrived back at our camp just as the sun was setting and the reflection on the lake was so beautiful! Delightful Day On Diamond Peak

12:03
On November 17, 2018 my friend Holly and I hiked up Diamond Peak. Since summiting the first time (without views) at the end of October, this mountain has quickly become my favorite mountain to summit in Oregon. It is definitely one of the easiest peaks to climb and the views from the top are absolutely stunning! Exped SynMat HL Winter Sleeping Pad Review

12:57
Exped SynMat HL Winter Sleeping Pad Review After my bad experience with the Therm-a-rest Neo Air Xlite, I didn't think I would ever get another air sleeping pad again. But this year I did some backpacking in the fall and therefor needed a sleeping pad that was warmer than my Therm-a-rest Zlite. After talking with the people at the Exped booth at PCT Days I decided to go with the SynMat HL Winter mat and I loved it on my trip to the Strawberry Mountains in September where it did get below freezing at night. Getting Lucky At Lucky Lake

11:30
On May 18, 2018 I took my first trip of the season up the Cascade Lakes Hwy, one of my favorite places to hike and backpack. Lucky Lake was not a hike I knew much about but since it was short and it was afternoon, I thought it would be perfect. And it was. The entire hike I was in awe of the smell and the view at the lake was absolutely breathtaking! Altra Superior 3.5 Hiking Shoe Review

10:31
Altra Superior 3.5 Hiking Shoe Review- I purchased the Altra Superior 3.5 trail runner shoes in July 2018. I hiked with them for 250 miles and new it was time to film a review for you all. *Since this video was filmed I have put another 90 miles on them and the wear at the back of the heel is so bad now that it actually really hurts me when I hike, so I will be retiring these shoes after having only worn them for 340 miles. Generally trail runners have a life span of 500-600 miles.
