Ranch style homes on the rise

03:12
It's the house in which many Americans grew up, and today homeowners are falling in love with the original ranch home all over again. As proof of its revival, the classic suburban ranch home was the favorite architectural style of respondents in the Perfect Home Survey, a home improvement study commissioned by window and door manufacturer JELD-WEN. Homeowners love the floor plans of traditional ranch homes, but not all ranches feature an abundance of style or energy efficiency. Updated windows and doors can transform ranches to fit the needs of todays homeowner. Window and door technology has come a long way since the beginning of the ranch era more than 50 years ago and can help bring new life to worn-out, dark living areas. For more advice on how to revitalize a ranch style home, please visit http://www.jeld-wen.com/pressroom/press.cfm/idcategory/87/idpress/258/home/1
Above 3751 to San Diego - Now Available!

02:25
Above 3751 to San Diego (DVD Video) On June 1, 2008, AT&SF 3751 made its first trip from Los Angeles to San Diego in 55 years and Pentrex was on the spot with multiple camera crews using the latest in high-tech equipment to bring you the best possible coverage of this exciting event. Using our famous aerial photography as well as trackside and onboard cameras, we were able to capture the train from all angles—and we do mean all! We were able to get some truly incredible shots! The powerful 4-8-4 Northern never looked better as she headed south along the beautiful Southern California coast. The skies were clear and sunny as the 3751 departed Los Angeles at the head of its 10-car train. The Amtrak unit behind the 3751 was placed in reverse mode for the turn-around in San Diego and to provide head end power for the cars. Otherwise, the special was pulled entirely by steam. Our camera crews had the train well covered as it followed the west side of the Los Angeles River, past Amtraks Redondo Yard, and headed east to Fullerton and then to San Juan Capistrano. A photo run-by for passengers took place at the Poinsettia Station where the thirsty Baldwin stopped to be watered and serviced before proceeding to San Diego. Leaving the shores of the Pacific Ocean, the oil-burning 81-year old steamer filled the canyons with a throaty exhaust as it tackled the 2.2 percent grades of Miramar Hill. In a scene reminiscent of the glory days of steam, the 3751 pulled into San Diegos classic Mission Revival style station where fans of all ages were waiting to greet the train. Our special coverage of this historic excursion also includes some rare in-cab footage of the 3751. Theres nothing quite so thrilling as the sights and sounds of big steam on the rails again and Pentrex has captured all that excitement for you in Above 3751 to San Diego!

Don Wayne Reno Teaches Dixie Breakdown

05:14
A sample from "Bluegrass Banjo Don Reno Style" available as an instant download here: https://leapingbrain.com/modshop/checkout/?shop=7&cart=477 The legendary Don Reno is revered in American bluegrass history for his improvisational flair, technical skills and good-humored personality. The Reno banjo style he created melds traditional bluegrass breakdowns with chord-based solos, percussive techniques and flamboyant single-string runs. Don taught his groundbreaking banjo techniques to his son, Don Wayne Reno, who now passes it on -- with lots of his dad's great advice -- to all aspiring players.Don Wayne's warm, relaxed and very thorough analysis of some of the most requested Reno tunes will help you master the distinctive features of this marvelous style. His banjo lesson is like sitting down to learn a few tunes with an old friend as he guides you through the rolls, brush techniques, walk-downs and chord melodies that give Reno-style banjo its trademark sound. He even covers some fascinating back-up rhythm techniques, along with up-the-neck chord shapes and progrssions, tricks such as "the double roll" and the "snare drum sound," and more. With his brother Dale on back-up guitar, Don Wayne teaches eight classic Reno songs: "Dixie Breakdown," "Banjo Signal," "Follow The Leader," "Double Banjo Blues," "Little Rock Getaway," "5 By 8," "Cumberland Gap" and the kick-offs to "I Know You're Married (But I Love You Still)" and "I'm The Talk Of The Town."The two Reno Brothers end this lesson with a great performance of "Charlotte Breakdown." He teaches this lesson on the famous 1934 Gibson Mastertone RB 3 Flathead with Flying Eagle inlay that his father received as a trade from Earl Scruggs in 1948. Don Reno played it on "Feuding Banjos" (precursor for "Dueling Banjos") and on all the great Reno and Smiley recordings. You won't find a Reno-style banjo lesson like this anywhere else! Reviews:"If you would like to learn some songs and licks by one of the most creative minds ever to tackle the 5-string, this video provides an opportunity like no other. My compliments to Don Wayne, Homespun Tapes, and of course, Don Reno." -- Banjo Newsletter"This video is highly recommended to all fans of Don Reno or the Reno Brothers, plus anyone who wants to be a better banjo player. There is a lot of detailed information that can be digested in small bites. There is enough here to allow the intermediate to advanced player to gain a solid understanding of Don Reno's banjo style." -- Bluegrass Unlimited. You can also get the DVD version at Homespun Tapes here: http://bit.ly/xcMLKx

Let me Call You Sweetheart -- Stumptown Jazz 2002

04:28
Let me Call You Sweetheart -- Stumptown Jazz 2002 Usually a waltz but we with Stumptown know it as a foxtrot as well and it is most suitable for the aging dance crowd we had to play for at Portland Dixieland Jazz Society's Sunday dance afternoon. At the end of the tune you can actually see these jazz seniors doing their careful steps. Our reedman Phil Hatton has grabbed his altosaxophone and plays a very creative solo. I like the simple pianosolo by our leader Gary Peterson especially with the accompaniment of guitarist Dave Brown who gives an excellent example how a four string guitar can sound. Eddie Condon did so as well, but unfortunately could never be heard clearly on any of his famous recordings. The other members in the band are Rex Rice on trombone, John Walling on the upright bass, Bill Franklin drums ansd lucky me, Bob Erwig, this time on trumpet. I always have imaginary dreams of having trouble crossing the border into the beautiful USA, where the border guards often seem to treat you like a possible gangster. Especially if you have a case under your arm with a horn in it. I guess this time I borrowed the trumpet from a local musician. What I like about this band that they can switch from the Westcoast revival style with banjo and tuba to the Eastcoast revival styles with guitar and bass. We lost quite a few of these aging jazz fans who have trouble to adjust to these style changes. Unfortunately their minds are set towards one style approach only. "Just too bad" King Oliver would say.

Richard Marx - Too Late To Say Goodbye

05:20
"Too Late To Say Goodbye" by "Richard Marx" was the fourth single released from his hugely successful second album "Repeat Offender". It reached as high as #12 on the US hot 100 and #38 on the UK singles charts back in 1990. Repeat Offender was released in mid-1989, it went on to sell over four million copies due to three singles in the Billboard Top Five charts including two #1 hit songs: "Satisfied" and "Right Here Waiting". Richard Noel Marx (born September 16, 1963 in Winnetka, Illinois) is an adult contemporary and pop/rock singer, songwriter, musician, and record producer. He had a string of highly successful hit singles in the late 1980s and 1990s, including "Endless Summer Nights", "Right Here Waiting", "Now & Forever", and "Hazard". Although most of his major hit songs were slow ballads like these, many of his songs had a classic rock style, such as "Don't Mean Nothing," "Should've Known Better," "Satisfied," and "Too Late To Say Goodbye". Marx placed himself in the record books by being the first solo artist to have his first seven singles hit the Top 5 on the US charts. For more information about Richard visit: http://www.richardmarx.com/ *Note: If you are a Record Company employee or artist(s) themselves who object(s) to this commercially unavailable video footage being promoted on YouTube (albeit in a lossy mono audio format) then please contact us to have it removed before flagging it. Alstead New Hampshire (NH) Real Estate Tour

01:45
http://www.alsteadnhrealestate.com Tour Alstead, NH neighborhoods, condominium developments, subdivisions, schools, landmarks, recreational areas, and town offices. Alstead, New Hampshire began in 1735 as one in a line of nine forts intended to protect southwestern New Hampshire from Indian attacks. Alstead was called Newton when it was granted to Samuel Chase and others and was later named for Johann Henrich Alsted, who compiled an early encyclopedia that was popular at Harvard College. The town received its N.H. charter in 1763. Alstead was one of the towns that wavered in its allegiance after the Revolutionary War. It decided to join Vermont in April 1781, but returned to N.H. authority early the next year. Shedd-Porter Memorial Library, built in 1910 in neo-classic revival style, was a gift to Alstead and Langdon by native son John G. Shedd, an associate of Marshall Field's department store in Chicago. Another native-son philanthropist, Charles M. Vilas, gave a large public recreation area, school building and the only carillon in Cheshire County. Marion Nicholl Rawson, chronicler of U.S. arts and crafts, made her home in Alstead. The first paper mill in New Hampshire was established by Ephraim and Elisha Kingsbury in 1793 on Cold River. While Alstead was basically an agricultural community, its streams and ponds once powered a variety of small mills. A turbine water mill at East Alstead is probably the last of its type anywhere in the region. For other town tours visit http://www.virtualhomes.com . Hallelujah Official Karaoke Instrumental-Lyrics On Screen

04:07
Karaoke Instrumental + Lyrics On Screen and in discription. Check out my blog: Memotape.webblogg.se I've heard there was a secret chord That David played, and it pleased the Lord But you don't really care for music, do you? It goes like this The fourth, the fifth The minor fall, the major lift The baffled king composing Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Your faith was strong but you needed proof You saw her bathing on the roof Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you She tied you to a kitchen chair She broke your throne, and she cut your hair And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah Baby I have been here before I know this room, I've walked this floor I used to live alone before I knew you. I've seen your flag on the marble arch Love is not a victory march It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah There was a time you let me know What's really going on below But now you never show it to me, do you? And remember when I moved in with you The holy dove was moving too And every breath we drew was Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Maybe there's a God above But all I've ever learned from love Was how to shoot at someone who outdrew you It's not a cry you can hear at night It's not somebody who has seen the light It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah You say I took the name in vain I don't even know the name But if I did, well really, what's it to you? There's a blaze of light in every word It doesn't matter which you heard The holy or the broken Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah I did my best, it wasn't much I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you And even though it all went wrong I'll stand before the Lord of Song With nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah
