Having recovered from our incredible first Warehouse gig of 2010 with The Shapeshifters rocking a full house for our fourth birthday, we step it up a notch on Bank Holiday Sunday 2 May. Continuing our up close and personal events, New City Sound is delighted to bring to Bristol the legendary DANNY RAMPLING! A rare appearance in the West by the man regarded as being responsible for the whole UK House and clubbing scene as we know it. On main room duty with Danny is yet more British House pedigree with none other than K-KLASS!
NCS has worked with the venue to tweak the entry price a little and advance tickets are just £9 and a 5am licence is again secured. Improved sound, light and new lazers are ready to go as the Warehouse management gradually work their magic. This will be a night to remember. Danny Rampling AND KKlass, up close and personal, for just £9! Danny is taking to the decks around midnight so get there early!
Affectionately known as the Godfather of the British House Music scene, Danny's fame originated in the late 80s when he kick started the dance/rave Acid House explosion with his legendary club Shoom. Danny DJ'd for Kiss FM in its groundbreaking days, has toured the world and spent six years on Radio One.
He became the must have DJ for the cool celebrity party scene, playing at events for George Michael, The Pet Shop Boys, Mick Hucknell, Gloria Estefan, Depeche Mode, Boy George, and many similar. During this time he was specially commissioned to provide the catwalk soundtrack for Milan designer Antonio Berardi and as a result he became the darling of the fashion world. Danny continues to this day to play at exclusive private parties, glamorous events and social gatherings worldwide.
In 2006 Danny entered a period of semi retirement from the music industry to concentrate on other business interests. Now in the 20th year anniversary of the Summer of Love, Danny is back, sharing his passion for music as we enter a year of special celebration and recollection of a vibrant and pivotal time in contemporary culture.
The K-Klass DJ'ing experience officially began in 1994 and is a coalition of their illustrious studio endeavours and a fusion of genres embedded in a fifteen year history. Russ and Paul combined their immense talents, which was released as the K-Klass Dj`ing experience at Cream. They moved on to create club sensations as producers with tunes such as the legendary "Rhythm is a Mystery"(No.3 in U.K. Top 40) and the huge "Let Me Show You"(No.13 in U.K. Top 40) as well as a further three top 40 tunes and over 100 productions/remixes, not to mention a Grammy nomination for their remixing skills.
One main weapon in the K-Klass arsenal is their immense talent to vary sound to keep even the most stubborn crowds happy, playing all over the UK at the likes of Shindig (Newcastle), Cream (Liverpool), Zap (Brighton), Pushca @ Ministry of Sound (London) and The Tunnel Club (Glasgow). On the global scene K-Klass have graced The Embassy (Jakarta, Indonesia), Club Base (Brazil), Pacha (Portugal), Smirnoff Experience (Jamaica), Amnesia, Privilege and El Divino (Ibiza) as well as at Cream in Italy, Finland, Dubai and Cyprus.
Room 2 support comes from Stylus Recordings and local legend Clinton Brown (Nevis) and the massively popular Harry Brandrick, making his NCS debut before heading to the White Isle to play the summer season.
The Warehouse is on Prince Street in Bristol, just off the picturesque quayside, awash with plenty of bars to meet and mix before the event. If you are traveling, Bristol has great road, rail and bus links and more than enough accommodation to suit all budgets.
is the nearest, right opposite the club, but there is plenty more nearby.
