DIY Telecaster Thinline (Fender style)
Update: This guitar was stolen last year (burglary), after some time recovered trough Marktplaats, and returned to me by the police. After that, i sold it myself :) Telecaster Thinline build from left-over parts from several guitar-kits. Body, Neck and pick-guard from a no-name Chinese do-it-yourself kit, control and tuners from another guitar-kit that was damaged during transport and the pickups are from a SAGA "PRS" guitar kit. To finish the project i bought a few cans of spray (cheapest i could get from the local Fixet hardware store) and cheap strings from the Kijkshop (on sale for only 6 euros). Recorded using a Roland Mobile Cube (first part) and Guitar RIG SE-edition with an USB-link (directly into the computer). BouwJeEigenGitaar.nl

Warmoth Thinline Tele Demonstration
This guitar is a dream that came true. After many years of reading everything that I could get about guitar building and modifying my old guitars back and forth I finally realized it. It is a Thinline Telecaster style guitar with PAF-Type Humbuckers (see the slide on the beginning of the film for details). The wood parts (neck and body) came from Warmoth. The Humbuckers are Seymour Duncan "Seth Lover" models. I might just have been lucky. But it turned out to be a very fine guitar. Very versatile. Percussive, responsive, good sustain and a very present Tone. I called it "The Harvest". The sound of this demonstration was recorded using only the on-board microphone of the video-camera. That's not a great solution, but I've heard worse examples here on youtube. I dedicate this demo to all the people out there who are planning to build their own guitar. Just do it! You will end up having a unique instrument that nobody else has. And if you're lucky it even sounds greater and plays better than many stock guitars. And I dedicate it of course to my brother "Rizza" Oemm! Keep the spirit flowing!

The Line Tool - Photoshop Tutorial
Yes, there is a Line Tool in Photoshop! Find out how to use it, make arrows with it, give the arrowheads personality, and even how to make curved arrows. (For CS6 users, please see the bottom of this description.) If you want to make curved lines, you're really better off using the Pen tool. I have a video tutorial about using the Pen tool on my website, at http://www.robinwood.com/Catalog/Technical/PhotoshopTuts/PhotoTutPages/PenToolPS.html This tutorial is for Photoshop CS5 and below. The Shape tools all changed quite a bit in CS6. So much that I'm going to have to make a new Tutorial! But until I can get that done, there are a few things you should know. The Arrowheads are still there; you'll find them under the little gear, in the rightmost section of the Options bar. They work exactly the way they always have. If you have chosen to make a Shape layer, you'll now have the ability to use Fill and Stroke (like you can with all the other Shapes. Shape layers are totally different in CS6.) To get dotted lines around your line, use the Stroke Options (drop down menu to the right of the stroke width text field.) Use the More Options button to stroke inside, middle, or outside the path. You can also make your own dashes, just like we do in Illustrator. If you just want a dashed line, You can now Fill the line with any of your Patterns! So all you have to do is make a Pattern that has the kind of dash you need, and fill with that. Hopefully, I'll have the new tutorial done soon after the turn of the year. The new options are really nice! I can't wait to show them to you.

How to Set Up a Thin Reed Style Float
Here is a thin reed style plastic float with rubber band line holders. This is an easy way to set up a float for delicate fishing. This float method allows for easy depth adjusting when you are trying to locate the fish. This is a great float for fishing for bream, bluegill and crappie in ponds and lakes and also streams and rivers. This method works as well on trout in moving water with a bait drifted underneath. These floats are available on the website.

Fender Classic 72 Thinline Telecaster Natural - PMT
Buy this guitar here... http://www.pmtonline.co.uk/fender-classic-series-72-telecaster-electric-guitar-in-natural https://www.facebook.com/PMTHouseOfRock/ https://twitter.com/pmthouseofrock https://www.instagram.com/pmthouseofrock The 72 Telecaster Thinline was first released -- as the name suggests in 1972, this was a busy year for Fender Telecasters as during that year many new options, configurations and colours were offered for the very first time. The Thinline is actually a semi-hollow body crafted from Ash and the standard Telecaster shape has a slightly rounder feel to it, the neck is Maple with a Maple finger board and 21 vintage style frets. There is also a single "f" type sound hole on the left hand upper side of the instrument ... Several new features were introduced on this instrument and the most noticeable is the use of two hum-buckers in place of the usual single coil Fender pick-ups. Known as the "Wide-Range" hum-buckers, these pick-ups were positioned at the neck and bridge positions and the name describes the fact that their frequency response covers a "wide range". Another unusual configuration option was to use a Vintage style Stratocaster string-through-body hard-tail bridge in place of the traditional Telecaster model, this gave the instrument a greater degree of adjustment for setting the action and intonation. The pick-ups are managed via a single volume and additional tone control along with a blade type 3-way selector switch located adjacent to the rotary controls. The headstock retains the traditional Telecaster shape and uses Fender®/Schaller® Vintage "F" style tuning machine heads, along with these the pick-ups, bridge and rotary volume and tone controls are all finished in chrome. Cosmetically the 72 Thinline has a natural finish with a Polyester coating and a Pearl effect scratch plate whilst the fret board has black dot fret markers and the plastic "Top Hat" on the pick-up selector switch is also black. Tony Farinha is one of PMT's local guitar professionals who as well as performing in several bands also offers private guitar tuition for all ages and abilities. Check out his Youtube page for more info. http://www.youtube.com/user/pickgaurd Many thanks again Tony, a really enjoyable top session !!

Part 2: Thinline Tele Comparision, Xaviere vs. Squier VM telecaster
This is part 2 in which I describe the Pro's and Con's of the Xaviere XV-620 guitar, a Thinline clone. Overall at the price point, I highly recommend it. The Squier VM is good too, all depending on your ear and your budget and personal preferences. If you have anything to add about these guitars, please comment. Major Pro's: Squier: Name brand, great neck stock pickup, good tuners, solid feel to it. Xaviere: Full semi-hollow, 3-saddle bridge, great bridge pickup, flatter fb radius, more durable paint finish, nice price point, don't have to remove neck to remove pickguard, very lightweight body similar to Danelectro, nice acoustic sound due to the true semi-hollow construction and different wood for body, MAJOR CON'S: Squier: 6-saddle bridge, thin bridge pickup sound, vintage radius fingerboard makes it harder to get rid of buzz in action adjustments, vintage radius means you need either staggered pole-piece bridge pickup or adjustable pole piece bridge pickup, paint is very thin and chips easily, only top f-hole portion of body is hollow, poorer quality fret *seating*, possibly softer frets, gibson-scale 24.75", have to remove neck to remove pickguard due to fb overhang. The Shoreline Gold color is more pewter than gold. Had to add a string tree on the headstock for the D and G strings Xaviere: no shielding on pickguard, neck is wide like an Ibanez or shredder guitar, stock neck pickup too weak, selector switch mounted too close to volume knob, slightly neck-heavy but not too bad, tuners are basic quality should upgrade if you gig with it, pickguard had a couple bubbles i the lamination (cheaper quality), no treble bleed cap on the volume pot. UPDATE: I've since gotten a Squier Affinity Tele and I would recommend getting an Xaviere over the Affinity Telecaster. Major bad issues of my Affinity: poor alignment of neck pickup polepieces, bridge is not thrubody and mine had burrs on the holes for the strings that needed to be filed smooth to prevent strings breaking at the ball end. Pickups are lack-luster. I've noticed the modern bridge has the pickup further away from the saddles than the vintage ashtray style. I think I prefer the vintage style for more bite.

Felix Laband - Bats in my Hair [Thin Shoes in June]
Felix Laband is an electronic music artist born in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. He creates light, emotional, minimalist soundscapes by combining several styles, and samples from classical, jazz and old television recordings overlaid with instrumental performances by himself and other guest artists. His music has been described by his record label as 'indietronica' and is similar in some ways to Boards of Canada and Iceland's Múm. When felix laband released his epic debut thin shoes in june in march 2001 there was a tangible buzz in the ozone layer in felix, south africa had found a unique new electronica voice there were quirky beats, playful cocktail lounge yearnings and inventive, sometimes kwaito-edged acid jazzy vibes, but undercutting it all was also something far more menacing, sinuous, and darkly beautiful. Now the man at the forefront of this burgioning scene has a new album due out on the open record label in october 2004 titled dark days exit, this is felix labands third release, following on from his two previous critically acclaimed albums on african dope records. it reflects felixs forays into classical instrumentation whilst still audibly remaining true to his unique style that always walks the thin red line between lush and disconcerting beat scapes. Felix describes it as his first true album, where he feels the music represents his vision alone. the result is a truly beautiful electronica album, mixed and arranged with absolute genius each track has distinct character, never slipping into the wallpaper monotony of current lounge fodder. Originally hailing from pietermaritzburg (wedged somewhere in the pastoral, rolling green hills of kwazulu natal), felix experimented with punk bands and computer animation before discovering pc based music, moving to cape town, and releasing thin shoes in june on african dope in 2001. the success of the album's uniquely whimsical atmospheric chillbeat style catapulted felix into the sa music limelight, and he has rapidly become south africas premier electronic musician. Felix explains, i think it could be called downbeat, emotive electronica. the whole album has been a gradual process. i'm into so much stuff and i always get quite influenced by what i'm listening to, but that changes every few months. this album has been quite a journey. when i first started i was into a lot of world music and trip-hoppy stuff like kid loco. more recently i've been getting into electronic stuff, but at the same time i'm really into classical music. i don't really listen to one specific genre of music at all. this album is just a reflection of all sorts of ideas that i've got. In 2002 he followed up with the provocative 4/4 down the stairs, with outrageous pink fold-out packaging and a more sinister undertone to the exquisitely crafted soundscaped beats. the album was hailed as a masterpiece of electro, cementing his reputation locally, while consolidating his international status. As felix told uk magazine dazed & confused, that south africa is a land of weird contrasts definitely comes through in the music. i'm not shy to throw things around. a lot of european stuff is quite formulaic, people stick to a certain sound and a specific way of doing things. i try and throw that out the window." Felix's albums brought him to the attention of the media production industries and he's composed music for some of sa's biggest tv ads and licensed tracks to foreign ads and labels like return to the source, peacelounge and cinque etoiles. he's also featured on numerous compilations, has a number of 12" vinyl excursions under his belt and some beautiful, edgy videos. felix has toured europe extensively and played at some very impressive festivals including south africas oppikoppi and splashy fen, the pukkelpop festival in holland and the wax c-lounge event in prague.

Ancient Bards - The birth of evil VideocliP (zero-budget) Directed by Jacopo Benzi Special thanks to: Luca Pasquinelli, Leo Paci, Filippo Sacchetti, "Frusci" Ursula, Beppe, Santarcangelo di Romagna (RN) There's just a very thin line between art and kitsch, but there are some innovative bands operating smartly near, but never beyond it. Among those: ANCIENT BARDS, managing that balancing act with ambitious grace. Some say ANCIENT BARDS are somehow like "more sophisticated" RHAPSODY that wouldn't do the sextet justice. ANCIENT BARDS are definitely versatile enough to deliver their musical visions without merely being copycats. Their debut album "The Alliance Of The Kings" is an impressive proof of this and will be a surprise for many. Keyboardist Daniele Mazza founded the band in the summer of 2007 - soon, ANCIENT BARDS were able to make quite a name for themselves in the local scene. Just one year later, the boys recorded a 5-track demo titled "Trailer" (of the Black Crystal Sword Saga) and received excellent reviews for the CD which contains a mixture of Nordic sagas and Japanese stories taken from the Final Fantasy series as its underlying themes. Between 2008 and 2009, the band played numerous festivals and shows, among others with Turisas, White Skull, Almah or Domine. These performances honed their style even more, and so they were ready to begin with the recordings of their first album in the summer of 2009 (featuring, among others, the Epic Choir Toto Corde and several guest musicians). "The Alliance Of The Kings" will make those very happy who love epic-melodic, classic arrangements, and appreciate a sound hovering between Nightwish, Rhapsody, Epica, and Delain. ANCIENT BARDS easily tackle that task with their versatile mix of Power Metal elements and old-school classic style, their songs brimming with zest and classy guitars. Among all these elements, the high and clear voice of Sara Squadrani is a wonderful match, a perfect fit for the epic keyboard parts, which are typical of the band's delivery. "Four Magic Elements" is a powerful, rhythmical song garnered with epic passages, "Only The Brave" combines traditional fast Metal with sumptuous melody lines. The beginning of "Nightfall In The Icy Forest" features a lot of classical elements à la Manowar, and is a bridge to seven minutes long "Lode Al Padre" ANCIENT BARDS really strut their stuff on that one! "The Alliance Of The Kings" is laden with epic choirs, peppy guitar parts and ultra-catchy melodies. The Black Crystal Sword Saga BEGINS!!! Discography: "The Alliance Of The Kings" in stores on March 12th 2010 Line-up: Sara Squadrani - vocals Daniele Mazza - keyboards Martino Garattoni - bass Claudio Pietronik - guitar Fabio Balducci - guitar Alessandro Carichini - drums http://www.ancientbards.com https://www.youtube.com/AncientBards https://www.facebook.com/ancientbards http://www.myspace.com/ancientbards http://www.limb-music.com http://www.forever-rock.de http://www.bolognarockcity.it

Stuck In The Middle With You - Stealers Wheel
Groovy! "Stuck in the Middle With You" or, as originally titled, "Stuck in the Middle", is a song by Joe Egan and Gerry Rafferty and performed by their band Stealers Wheel. Stuck in the Middle With You was released on Stealers Wheel's 1972 self-titled debut album Stealers Wheel. The single sold over one million copies, eventually peaking in 1973 at #6 in the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart and #8 in the UK Singles Chart. Stealers Wheel is a Scottish folk rock/rock band formed in Paisley, Renfrewshire in 1972 by former school friends Joe Egan and Gerry Rafferty. The band broke up in 1975 and was re-formed in 2008. Rafferty and Egan first met when they were teenagers in Paisley and they became the core of Stealers Wheel. In the early 1970s, the band was considered to be the British version of American folk/rock super group Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. They were initially joined by Roger Brown, Rab Noakes and Ian Campbell in 1972. However, that line-up only lasted a few months and by the time the band was signed to A&M Records later that same year, Brown, Noakes and Campbell had been replaced by Paul Pilnick, Tony Williams and Rod Coombes. This line-up recorded their eponymous debut album, Stealers Wheel and was produced by the influential American songwriters and producers Leiber & Stoller. The album was a critical and commercial success reaching number fifty in the US album charts, with their million selling hit single "Stuck in the Middle", coming from the album. By the time the first album was released Rafferty had left the band to be replaced by Luther Grosvenor, who remained with the band for much of 1973 on tour. DeLisle Harper also replaced Tony Williams on tour. The single reached number six in the USA and number eight in the UK in 1973, and sold over one million copies worldwide, and with the album also selling well, Rafferty was persuaded to return. However, Grosvenor, Coombes and Pilnick all left the band. With so many changes in the band's line-up they officially became a duo, with backing musicians as needed on tour and in the studio. Later in 1973 the single "Everyone's Agreed That Everything Will Turn Out Fine" (which is different from the version on their albums and all subsequent CDs) had modest chart success and in 1974 the single "Star" reached the top thirty of both the UK and US charts. A second album Ferguslie Park was released in 1974, with the duo backed up by nine backing musicians. The album, named after an area of Paisley, only just reached the top 200 in the USA and was a commercial failure. With increasing tension between Rafferty and Egan they could not agree on which studio musicians to use on the third album, and with Leiber & Stoller also having business problems, Stealers Wheel disappeared for eighteen months. By the time the album Right Or Wrong was released in 1975, Stealers Wheel had ceased to exist. The last album, because of disagreements and managerial problems, was produced by Mentor Williams. All three albums had particularly striking, slightly surrealist sleeve designs by artist John Byrne. After 1975 the group was hardly known and the two last single releases faded away in the charts. Both Rafferty and Egan recorded songs which included lyrics referring to the acrimonious history of Stealers Wheel and a Best of Stealers Wheel album was released in 1990. In 1992 director Quentin Tarantino used the track "Stuck in the Middle" in the soundtrack of his debut film Reservoir Dogs, bringing new attention to the band. And in September 2001 a dance version of Stuck in the Middle was a UK Top 10 hit for Louise in September, 2001, with a music video that drew heavily on the original song's appearance in the soundtrack of Reservoir Dogs. All three albums have been unavailable for a number of years, although in 2004 and 2005 the British independent label Lemon Recordings, of Cherry Red, re-released them with remastered sound and new liner-notes. After being contacted by iTunes and K-tel records in California, Tony Williams re-formed Stealers Wheel in Blackpool in 2008 with two other original band members, Rod Coombes and Paul Pilnick together with locally based musician and songwriter Tony Mitchell. On 10 November 2008 they started filming a music video for a re-release of "Stuck in the Middle" on the Fylde coast. They also began writing songs for a new album to be released in 2009, although they have no plans to go on tour. Luther Grosvenor has expressed his interest in joining the band should they tour.

Equitz Guitars (Homemade) Telecaster-style custom electric guitar, GFS P90 pickups
This was made from a 1-piece alder body with dual P90 pickups and a thin-skin nitrocellulose finish. The demo is played through a Fender Hot Rod DeVille with no effects other than the reverb and distortion on the amp. My apologies for the goofy playing and the bad audio quality from the laptop mic. Trust me, it sounds much better in person! For photos of this build and other projects in the works, check out Equitz Guitars on Facebook (facebook.com/equitzguitars). Thanks for watching!
