Writer/Director Craig Brewer ("Hustle & Flow," "Black Snake Moan") delivers a new take of the beloved 1984 classic film, "Footloose." Ren MacCormack (played by newcomer Kenny Wormald) is transplanted from Boston to the small southern town of Beaumont where he experiences a heavy dose of culture shock. A few years prior, the community was rocked by a tragic accident that killed five teenagers after a night out and Beaumont's local councilmen and the beloved Reverend Shaw Moore (Dennis Quaid) responded by implementing ordinances that prohibit loud music and dancing. Not one to bow to the status quo, Ren challenges the ban, revitalizing the town and falling in love with the minister's troubled daughter Ariel (Julianne Hough) in the process. Deja Vu (All Over Again) is a 2004 album by John Fogerty. It was released after the lapse of 7 years from previous studio album Blue Moon Swamp. Originally issued by DreamWorks Records, it was reissued by Geffen Records after it absorbed DreamWorks. Musical style and sound Unlike its predecessor, the Southern rock/swamp rock-obsessed Blue Moon Swamp, Deja Vu (All Over Again) hasn't got any unifying lyrical or musical theme. It's very eclectic and varied album in the sound and in the moods. The title track is protest song in 60's-70's folk rock-style, a truly effective effort in drawing parallels between current Iraq war and the Vietnam war. Тhe album also explores Ramones-style punk rock ("She's Got Baggage"), disco/new wave("Radar"), psychedelic/acid rock in the Jimi Hendrix Experience-style ("In the Garden"), and Dire Straits' heritage featuring Mark Knopfler ("Nobody's Here Anymore" within musical citation from "Sultans of Swing"), as well as Fogerty's traditional American roots influences, e.g. old-fashioned rock and roll ("Sugar-Sugar (In My Life)"), the Sun Records-style rockabilly ("Honey Do"), bluegrass ("I Will Walk With You"), country rock ("Rhubarb Pie"), swamp rock ("Wicked Old Witch"). Simple Man - Lynyrd Skynyrd Lyrics: Mama told me when I was young Come sit beside me my only son And listen closely to what I say And if you do this it'll help you some sunny day. Oh Yah! Oh take your time don't live too fast troubles will come and they will pass Go find a woman and you'll find love And don't forget son there is someone up above And be a simple kind of man Oh be something you love and understand Baby be a simple kind of man Oh won't you do this for me son if you can? Forget your lust, for the rich man's gold All that you need is in your soul And you can do this Oh baby if you try All that I want for you my son is to be satisfied And be a simple kind of man Oh be something you love and understand Baby be a simple kind of man Oh won't you do this for me son if you can? Boy don't you worry, you'll find yourself Follow your heart and nothing else And you can do this Oh baby if you try All that I want for you my son is to be satisfied Baby be a simple kind of man Oh won't you do this for me son if you can? Baby be a simple, be a simple man.

Designed by Mimi Fontana, founder and director of New York City's Manhattan Tribal ATS collective and sister studio of Fat Chance Bellydance, the program blends classic ATS moves of Fat Chance Bellydance with signature steps and combinations developed by Mimi and Manhattan Tribal. The Manhattan Tribal combinations embody both tradition and innovation within the ATS format, adding modern flair to the mesmerizing flow of Tribal Style dance. Tribal Revival - American Tribal Style Bellydance Variations and Combinations opens with a technique review featuring slow and fast drills of individual ATS movements. In the combinations section Mimi offers detailed breakdown of ATS moves from various levels of both Carolena Nericcio's instructional format and Manhattan Tribal's own moves and cues, and weaves them into 7 combinations - 3 slow and 4 fast. Each combination is taught step-by-step with improvisational cues as performed by duets, trios, and quartets of ATS dancers. Extensive drills of each combination enable group practice. Mimi's teaching style is precise, generous and supportive; her attention to form and detail that enhance the magic of American Tribal Style will help you polish your technique and deepen your expressivity as an ATS performer. In addition to teaching group format, Mimi Fontana seeks to expand the application of ATS moves and combinations in solo performance by including solo versions of each combination, each with its own solo drills for practice. This added feature offers Tribal Fusion soloists the opportunity to review their Tribal style technique and enrich their dance vocabulary with classic ATS and Manhattan Tribal moves woven into beautiful sequences.

JOHANN SEBASTIAN BACH (21 March 1685, O.S.31 March 1685, N.S. -- 28 July 1750, N.S.) was a German composer, organist, harpsichordist, violist, and violinist whose sacred and secular works for choir, orchestra, and solo instruments drew together the strands of the Baroque period and brought it to its ultimate maturity.Although he did not introduce new forms, he enriched the prevailing German style with a robust contrapuntal technique, an unrivalled control of harmonic and motivic organisation, and the adaptation of rhythms, forms and textures from abroad, particularly from Italy and France. Revered for their intellectual depth, technical command and artistic beauty, Bach's works include the Brandenburg Concertos, the Goldberg Variations, the Partitas, The Well-Tempered Clavier, the Mass in B minor, the St Matthew Passion, the St John Passion, the Magnificat, the Musical Offering, The Art of Fugue, the English and French Suites, the Sonatas and Partitas for solo violin, the Cello Suites, more than 200 surviving cantatas, and a similar number of organ works, including the famous Toccata and Fugue in D minor and Passacaglia and Fugue in C minor, and the Great Eighteen Chorale Preludes and Organ Mass. Bach's abilities as an organist were highly respected throughout Europe during his lifetime, although he was not widely recognised as a great composer until a revival of interest and performances of his music in the first half of the 19th century. He is now generally regarded as one of the main composers of the Baroque style, and as one of the greatest composers of all time. FILM DESCRIPTION: After parodying the blaxploitation films of the 1970s in I'm Gonna Git You Sucka, Keenen Ivory Wayans takes aim at slasher films of the 1980s and 1990s in this raunchy satire, which was produced under the clumsy but inarguably appropriate title Scream If You Know What I Did Last Halloween. As you might expect, a group of teenagers -- not-terribly-bright Buffy (Shannon Elizabeth), her best friend Brenda (Regina Hall), stoner Shorty (Marlon Wayans), fey football player Ray (Shawn Wayans), loudmouthed Greg (Lochlyn Munro), sexually overexcited Bobby (Jon Abrahams), and his prim girlfriend Cindy (Anna Faris) -- are on the run from a maniacal killer who is looking for revenge after the kids accidentally kill a man following an auto accident. They also find themselves having to contend with intrusive reporter Gail Hailstorm (Cheri Oteri) and eccentric high school principal Squiggly (David L. Lander). One of the most popular novelty artists of all time, Ray Stevens enjoyed a remarkably long career, with a stretch of charting singles -- some of them major hits -- that spanned four decades. Unlike parody king Weird Al Yankovic, Stevens made most of his impact with original material, often based on cultural trends of the day. Yet his knack for sheer silliness translated across generations, not to mention countless compilations and special TV offers. Stevens was a legitimately skilled singer and producer who also performed straight country and pop, scoring the occasional serious hit. But in general, comic novelty songs were his bread and butter, and his brand of humor somehow managed to endure seismic shifts in popular taste and style. Stevens was born Harold Ray Ragsdale on January 24, 1939, in the small town of Clarkdale, GA. He started piano lessons at age six and formed a band at 15 called the Barons, which played at local venues and social events. At 17, he moved to Atlanta and caught on with radioman Bill Lowery's music publishing company; one of his songs, "Silver Bracelet," got him a shot at recording for Capitol subsidiary Prep, but the single never hit outside of Atlanta. Stevens enrolled at Georgia State University to study classical piano and music theory and in the meantime continued to record for Lowery's NRC label. One of his earliest novelty songs, 1960's "Sgt. Preston of the Yukon," was building a national buzz until a copyright infringement suit took it off the racks. Stevens began performing regularly on a radio show called The Georgia Jubilee, which helped lead to a job with Mercury Records as a session musician, arranger, and A&R assistant. Meanwhile, in 1961, he landed his first Top 40 hit with the novelty (obviously) song "Jeremiah Peabody's Poly Unsaturated Quick Dissolving Fast Acting Pleasant Tasting Green and Purple Pills." Once Stevens joined the Mercury staff, he recorded several more novelty singles. "Ahab the Arab," released in early 1962, was a smash hit, reaching the Top Five on the pop charts and even crossing over to the Top Ten on the R&B side. The follow-up, "Santa Claus Is Watching You," just missed the Top 40, but 1963's "Harry the Hairy Ape" returned him to the Top 20. Still, Stevens wasn't planning on a singing career; he concentrated more on learning the ropes in the studio. He worked with artists like Brenda Lee, Patti Page, and Brook Benton and sometimes sang as a substitute vocalist with the Jordanaires. In 1963, he played with Elvis Presley himself on the sessions for the Fun in Acapulco soundtrack. With no hits of his own on the way, however, Stevens wound up moving to the Monument label, where he signed on as a producer and arranger. There he worked with a young Dolly Parton and B.J. Thomas, among others, and formed a friendship with producer Bill Justis (best known for his Sun Records classic "Raunchy"). Stevens began recording again for Monument in 1968, delving into surprisingly pointed social commentary with the Top 30 pop hit "Mr. Businessman." Comedy was still in his blood, though, and Justis gave him an idea for a song called "Gitarzan." Stevens wrote the lyrics and voiced the characters, and in 1969 "Gitarzan" became his first Top Ten pop hit in seven years. His follow-up, a version of the Coasters' "Along Came Jones," reached the Top 30. Stevens also recorded "Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down," a song by a young up-and-comer named Kris Kristofferson. He was so pleased with the result that he turned down a chance to record Burt Bacharach's "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head," which of course hit number one for Thomas. Unfortunately, Stevens' version of "Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down" flopped, but his instincts were right on, as Johnny Cash scored a major hit with it not long after. An appearance on Andy Williams' variety show led to Stevens signing with the singer's Barnaby label in 1970. He hit immediately with a straight pop song, the relentlessly cheery "Everything Is Beautiful," which displayed his heretofore unseen sentimental streak. "Everything Is Beautiful" was an enormous hit, climbing to number one on the pop charts and winning Stevens a Grammy. Follow-ups included the serious-minded pop song "America, Communicate With Me" (1970), the novelty song "Bridget the Midget (Queen of the Blues)" (1971), and the gospel-styled "Turn Your Radio On" (1972), the latter of which was his first Top 20 country hit. It was, of course, a novelty song that would give Stevens his next big success. "The Streak," a 1974 ditty about the new fad of (what else?) streaking, zoomed up the charts to become Stevens' second number one pop hit and also made the country PLEASE NOTE: I divided my uploads among multiple channels, Bookmark this link in your browser for instant access to an index with links to all of John1948's oldies classics. Title: NEOCLASSICAL ARCHITECTURE IN GREECE Author: MANOS BIRIS Format: Hardback Details: When Greece was liberated from the Ottoman empire in 1832 following a ten-year war of independence, the new cultural dawn meant new architectural styles. The prevailing European neoclassical style thus returned to Athens where classicism had originated over 2,000 years previously. This gorgeous book traces the development of neoclassical architecture in Greece, examining its distinctive forms and arguing that it had a variety of different origins rather than being imposed wholesale by the new regime in 1832. Starting with the reappraisal of classical styles during the Enlightenment, the authors stress the connection between external classical order and the internal organisation of space. Athens was the centre of the new neo-classicism and the brief was not only to reconstruct the damaged capital but also to create a monumentalism worthy of the new Greek state. The University, started in 1839, with its central Ionic porch and colour frieze, is exemplary in its handling of classical order and the functional design of interiors. The Arsakeion girls' school is an example of a more austere classicism, while the Eye Hospital demonstrates Byzantine influence. The monumental reading room of the National Library is one of the finest European classical interiors. A more ornate classicism was characteristic of later facades, such as the house at 24 Nikis Street. The authors conclude with the transition to modernism, where the spare lines of austere classicism integrated seamlessly with the streamlining of a machine-age Art Deco aesthetic. Superbly illustrated, the book has colour reproductions on almost every page. 312pp, bibliography. Published Price: £75.00 BIBLIOPHILE PRICE: £12.00

Pulp Fiction movie clips: http://j.mp/1L5eDtj BUY THE MOVIE: http://amzn.to/u4q3x7 Don't miss the HOTTEST NEW TRAILERS: http://bit.ly/1u2y6pr CLIP DESCRIPTION: Vincent (John Travolta) and Lance (Eric Stoltz) give Mia (Uma Thurman) a shot of adrenaline to the heart to save her from an overdose. FILM DESCRIPTION: Outrageously violent, time-twisting, and in love with language, Pulp Fiction was widely considered the most influential American movie of the 1990s. Director and co-screenwriter Quentin Tarantino synthesized such seemingly disparate traditions as the syncopated language of David Mamet; the serious violence of American gangster movies, crime movies, and films noirs mixed up with the wacky violence of cartoons, video games, and Japanese animation; and the fragmented story-telling structures of such experimental classics as Citizen Kane, Rashomon, and La jetée. The Oscar-winning script by Tarantino and Roger Avary intertwines three stories, featuring Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta, in the role that single-handedly reignited his career, as hit men who have philosophical interchanges on such topics as the French names for American fast food products; Bruce Willis as a boxer out of a 1940s B-movie; and such other stalwarts as Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth, Christopher Walken, Eric Stoltz, Ving Rhames, and Uma Thurman, whose dance sequence with Travolta proved an instant classic. At a time when rock was evolving further and further away from the forces that had made the music possible in the first place, Creedence Clearwater Revival brought things back to their roots with their concise synthesis of rockabilly, swamp pop, R&B, and country. Though CCR was very much a group in their tight, punchy arrangements, their vision was very much singer, songwriter, guitarist, and leader John Fogerty's. Fogerty's classic compositions for Creedence both evoked enduring images of Americana and reflected burning social issues of the day. The band's genius was their ability to accomplish this with the economic, primal power of a classic rockabilly ensemble. The key elements of Creedence had been woodshedding in bar bands for about a decade before their breakthrough to national success in the late '60s. John's older brother Tom formed the Blue Velvets in the late '50s in El Cerrito, CA, a tiny suburb across the bay from San Francisco. By the mid-'60s, with a few hopelessly obscure recordings under their belt, they'd signed to Fantasy, releasing several singles as the Golliwogs that went nowhere. In fact, there's little promise to be found on those early efforts, primarily because Tom, not John, was doing most of the singing. The group only found themselves when John took firm reigns over the band's direction, singing and writing virtually all of their material. On their first album as Creedence Clearwater Revival in 1968, the group played it both ways, offering extended, quasi-psychedelic workouts of the '50s classics "I Put a Spell on You" and "Suzie Q." The latter song became their first big hit, but the band didn't really bloom until "Proud Mary," a number-two single in early 1969 that demonstrated John's talent at tapping into Southern roots music and imagery with a natural ease. It was the start of a torrent of classic hits from the gritty, Little Richard-inspired singer over the next two years, including "Bad Moon Rising," "Green River," "Down on the Corner," "Travelin' Band," "Who'll Stop the Rain," "Up Around the Bend," and "Lookin' Out My Back Door." Creedence also made good albums, but their true forte was as a singles band -- their LPs contained some filler, both in the forms of average original material and straightforward covers of rock & roll chestnuts. When the Beatles broke up in early 1970, CCR was the only other act that provided any competition in the fine art of crafting bold, super-catchy artistic statements that soared to the upper reaches of the charts every three or four months. Although they hailed from the San Francisco area, they rarely succumbed to the psychedelic indulgences of the era. John Fogerty also proved adept at voicing the concerns of the working class in songs like "Fortunate Son," as well as partying with as much funk as any white rock band would muster on "Travelin' Band" and "Down on the Corner." With John Fogerty holding such a strong upper hand, Creedence couldn't be said to have been a democratic unit, and Fogerty's dominance was to sow the seeds of the group's quick dissolution. Tom Fogerty left in 1971 (recording a few unremarkable solo albums of his own), reducing the band to a trio. John allowed drummer Doug Clifford and bassist Stu Cook equal shares of songwriting and vocal time on the group's final album, Mardi Gras (1972), which proved conclusively that Fogerty's songs and singing were necessary to raise CCR above journeyman status. It was John Fogerty, of course, who produced the only notable work after the quartet broke up. Even his solo outings, though, were erratic and, for nearly ten years, nonexistent as he became embroiled in a web of business disputes with Fantasy Records. His 1984 album Centerfield proved he could still rock in the vintage Creedence mode when the spirit moved him, but Tom Fogerty's death in 1990 ended any hopes of a CCR reunion with the original members intact. ~ Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide PLEASE NOTE: I divided my uploads among multiple channels, Bookmark this link in your browser for instant access to an index with links to all of John1948's oldies classics. "Full House" as currently known, is a c.1893 Classic Shingle Style Summer cottage with Greek Revival influenced front porch details. This home is perched high on a rock outcropping in the heart of "The Dumplings" area of Jamestown. The "Dumplings" as commonly referred to now, was once known as "Ocean Highlands". This tract of land extends south from the village, with its irregular rocky shoreline, from the Dumplings area to Southwest Point, forming the southern boundary, and Mackerel Cove bounds this district to the west, and the East Passage defines its eastern shoreline. Many of the the island's architecturally significant summer cottages are located in this area taking full advantage of the hills and rock formations to provide amazing panoramic views of Narragansett Bay and beyond to the open ocean. The Ocean Highlands Company, developer of this land tract dates back to 1873. The area was once comprised of 240 acres of farmland owned by the Cottrell family. The speculation of this company led by Phillip Caswell, Jr., a Jamestown native, whom became a druggist in Newport, and then moved on to New York; to start up Caswell-Massey,Inc. He then led a group of investors including one of the Cottrell family members, to divide up parts of the farmland into house lots. Along with the plan to sell parcels to summer folk for their cottages, his intent was to include a resort hotel. The hotel would have been called Hotel Conanicus. Unfortunately it was never built, partly because this area was remote from the village as there was no direct road connecting it to town. To access the area it was easier to sail from Newport to the adjacent shore. With an idea to inspire folks to purchase lots in the area, Mr. Caswell gave a building site to the marine artist, William Trost Richards of Philadelphia. The rock formations of this unique shoreline provided an abundance of scenery for which to create his paintings. Many of the Richards paintings, now highly desireable collectibles, depic scenes of this shoreline. This home was originally built for Thomas C. Potter, the style of which is a prominent, hip-roof summer cottage with Greek Revival influence, as noted by the wrap around porch and bold columns set upon rock faced pillars. The entrance steps lead from the driveway and carriage house to a wonderful Dutch door, opening to a grand parlor complete with brick fireplace and views across to Newport. A cozy living room with French doors opens on to the covered porch providing a wonderful meeting area. Adjacent to the parlor is a formal dining room complete with fireplace. The expansive wrap around porch is a gathering place for guests to mingle and share in the scenic vista overlooking Narragansett Bay and across to the entrance to Newport Harbor. The spectacular staircase with its landings lead to the mutiple bedrooms and baths. A back staircase provides easy access to the butlers pantry and kitchen area, where house staff once prepared and served the vacationing owners of that time period. The 3rd floor which has additional rooms and a full bath, once provided sleeping quarters for additional family guests or house staff. The property once three parcels of land, is currently two lots of record. The house and carriage house are set upon nearly 4 1/2 acres, and a separate parcel with frontage along Newport Street is 1 1/3 acres. Winding paths lead through vegetaion and provide easy access to Newport Street; from there it is just a short stroll to the "Dumplings" beach area and pier, which upon membership can provide a great swimming area and social gathering.
