EBRD financing helped Nibulon build a chain of terminals to ship grain to the Black Sea. The EBRD believes greater input from private companies can double Ukraine's harvests and exports.
Thunderstone - Sea of Sorrow (lyrics)

05:08
One of my favorite Power Metal ballads. Band: Thunderstone Track: Sea of Sorrow Album: The Burning Year: 2004 Origin: Finland Thanks for listening~! I do not own rights for the music, I just want to give these bands more exposure. Please support any band you like :) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- LYRICS: You were the ground beneath my feet Stretching as far as I could see But then you were called to sail And I felt all hope fail The tide is turning And I'm left yearning Watching you sail away On towards a better day And now I, yes, I Sail on, sail on, on a wind of pain Sail on, sail on, with no shelter from the rain Sail on, sail on, with no light to follow Sail on, sail on, on a sea of sorrow. Barren waters all around me Stretching as far as I can see Sailing on without a breath Looking for the black sails of Death The tide is turning And I'm left yearning Watching you sail away On towards a better day Still I, yes, I Sail on, sail on, on a wind of pain Sail on, sail on, with no shelter from the rain Sail on, sail on, with no light to follow Sail on, sail on, on a sea of sorrow On a sea of sorrow [Repeat chorus while fading]

10 - Winter sailing in the Mediterranean

05:12
Resource and I (I notice afterwards I keep using a royal "we" ;-) change countries in the middle of the winter, a cold trip on 3 January 2012. Just some impressions on video as the trip is long enough to do some video editing. Special feeling sailing a deserted Med. Nothing compared to the cold spell sailing experienced in the far North though - the sun in the middle of the day was quite nice ! Nice trip. Jan 12.

Ukraine Paragliding Take-Off near Yalta, The Crimea off the Black Sea

02:22
This is my paragliding take-off from the top of Ay-Petrinskaya Yayla mountain near the town of Yalta in The Crimea, Ukraine on Saturday, June 9, 2012. Video courtesy of Igor B. The elevation was about 1200 meters of 3,937 feet with distance to landing of a couple of miles. A few local Ukranian hang-gliding pilots were on hand to talk about the local flying conditions. One over-zealous pilot gave me an extra push for good luck. Winds were light on take-off, landing was smooth and simple in a local dried-up vineyard.

Nihill - Pulsus: Sailing the Great Dark Cosmic Sea of Chaos

11:25
Grond (2009) 1. Aard: The Fermentation of Sol and Luna in the Black Foliated Earth 2. Antimoon: Concerning the Dead, The Coffin's Fire Slow But Eternal 3. Vacuum: The Complexity of Entering the Vaults of Death 4. Pulsus: Sailing the Great Dark Cosmic Sea of Chaos At long last, black metal band Nihill has issued Grond, the second part (following 2007's Krach) in their trilogy of albums dealing with Gnosticism, philosophical abstraction (from Martin Heidegger to Georges Bataille), and the subject of death. Sonically, this Norwegian unit touches on many aspects of the 21st century blackened metal: their sound feels like a cross -- in some respects -- of the buzzing abstraction and speed of Deathspell Omega and the sludgiest, doomiest bombast of Sunn 0))), but there is more than that, with the music becoming almost improvisational in its experimentation à la Blut Aus Nord and S.V.E.S.T., as is showcased here. Four long tracks -- the shortest of which is over 11 minutes -- comprise a suite. Thematically, the song titles reveal plenty and create their own sort of Black Metal Book of the Dead: "Aard: The Fermentation of Sol and Luna in the Black Foliated Earth"; "Antimoon: Concerning the Dead, the Coffin's Fire Slow But Eternal"; "Vacuum: The Complexity of Entering the Vaults of Death"; and "Pulsus: Sailing the Great Cosmic Sea of Chaos." Serious stuff. Hydra Head Records -- the label that issued this (and reissued Krach in the United States) -- also printed a deluxe little booklet with all the lyrics in a typeface that can actually be read. But it's the music that ultimately matters, and this cacophony has so much going on in its muddy mix that it's hard not to get lost in the pure pulsing swirl of it all. Guitars buzz and reverberate against their own din; the basslines are basic but low-tuned and punishing; drums seems to dominate and they roll, crack, and blast without cessation as one track bleeds into another. Strange dynamics from utterly in-the-red distortion, crackle, and hum give way to repetitive bits of ambience and hypnotic single-string guitar patterns (not solos), and noise that feels almost like Merzbow ("Antimoon"). The strange wandering nightmare that is Grond is unlike anything else in metal. The spoken word bits ("Antimoon" and "Pulsus"), rather than sounding corny or affected, come across as extremely serious, disturbing, and poetic. This is the bleak void of black metal. It knows where its origins are, but knows not where it ends because there are no limits placed by Nihill on the music; it goes where it needs to and makes no compromises in its (lack of) production. Grond leaves the listener much as Krach did -- wanting more, much more, and anxiously awaiting the final part of this trilogy. [allmusic.com]

Dio - All the Fools Sailed Away

07:13
Title: All the Fools Sailed Away (track 04) Artist: Dio Album: Dream Evil Year: 1987 Label: Warner Bros. Writer(s): Ronnie James Dio, Craig Goldy Lyrics: There's perfect harmony In the rising and the falling of the sea And as we sail along I never fail to be astounded by The things we'll do for promises And a song We are the innocent We are the damned We were caught in the middle of the madness Hunted by the lion and the lamb We bring you fantasy We bring you pain It's your one great chance for a miracle Or we will disappear never to be seen again And all the fools sailed away All the fools sailed away Sailed away We bring you beautiful We teach you sin We can give you a piece of the universe Or we will disappear never to return again And all the fools sailed away All the fools sailed away All the fools sailed away They sailed away Sailed away And as we drift along I never fail to be astounded by The things we'll do for promises And a song We are the innocent We cut, we bleed We're your one great chance for a miracle And a miracle is something you need They'll take your diamonds And then give you steel You'll be caught in the middle of the madness Just lost like them, part of all the pain they feel, yeah And all the fools sailed away All the fools sailed away All the fools sailed away Leaving nothing, nothing more to say All the fools sailed away They say you're beautiful And they'll always let you in But doors are never open To the child without a trace of sin Sail away

Bernard Oglesby Mefkure Orchestral work. 2nd Movement, Black Sea

09:33
Orchestral Work - Mefkure by the Artist Bernard Oglesby. The Mefkure orchestral work is the second classical release composed by the British Artist Bernard Oglesby. The work forms part of a trilogy of orchestral pieces focused around the extraordinary poems of the Romanian poet O. Nimigean. The Mefkure Orchestral work explores the "The Night Sea Journey" as a parallel to a kind of "descensus ad inferos" (Harrowing of Hell). It features Ayer Ontak and Mihai Neculai on violin and cello and Bernard Oglesby on piano and percussion. The work comprises of 5 movements that chart the embarkation on August 5, 1944 of the Turkish motor-schooner Mefkure as it set sail from the Romanian port of Constanta bound for Istanbul and Palestine. It carried over 300 passengers, mostly Jews looking to escape from Romania, Hungary and Poland. Twenty-five miles northeast of Igneada, Turkey, in the Bosporus, the schooner was attacked with gunfire and torpedoes. The survivors were machine-gunned whilst struggling in the water. Only 11 survived. The work's focused atmosphere, shape of sound and tactile structure eco the vast diaspora - movement, migration and scattering of people away from an ancestral homeland. Oglesby's preparatory research into Romanian folk songs and traditional instruments sets the tenor and undertone of the score, with some of the instrumentation being specially prepared and detuned to create particular pitch, voicing and register. The work is released on the Ontak Studio label and will be distributed by AWAL Digital Limited in November 2012.

Ukraine River Cruise Travel Video - Dnieper River Tour in Europe

17:15
Our Ukraine Cruise is a real gem. This once hidden and unknown country is now open to tourists. History dates back over 1000 years and you can see wonderful landmarks in the capital city of Kiev. The Dnieper River offers you an up close and personal view of the culture and people that call the Ukaine home. Read more Information about our Ukraine River Cruise: http://www.rivercruises.net/europe/ukraine/ Welcome to Ukraine, one of Europe's last hidden treasures. Long in the shadow of the Soviet Empire, this lovely country, rich in history, culture and natural beauty, regained its independence in 1991 and opened its doors to the world. From gorgeous Odessa, the gateway to the Black Sea, to Yalta and its world-class beaches, to Zaporozhye, the home of the fearless Cossack warriors, and to cosmopolitan Kiev, with its wide, tree-lined boulevards and a thousand-year-old history, Ukraine is a true treasure chest of natural and man-made attractions waiting to be explored. We are pleased to introduce to you this new and exciting travel destination in the hopes that we may one day share in the pleasure of your company as you discover Ukraine with us. One of the best ways to explore this diverse country is by cruising the magnificent Dnieper River. At 1,420 miles in length, it is the third longest river in Europe, after the Volga and the Danube. The benefits of a river cruise are many. No packing and unpacking, as our floating hotel will take you from one exciting destination to the next. All your meals are included, as are most of your shore excursions. Our on-board staff of guides, cruise directors, and talented entertainers will delight you with their lectures, music, and hospitality. Sit back and enjoy an unforgettable journey from Odessa to Kiev, and all of the unique Ukrainian stops in between. As either a starting or ending point for our cruises, Odessa is sure to delight you. A mild climate and a youthful, vibrant population have drawn the rich and the famous to this Black Sea port for centuries. Its most famous citizen, the French Duke De Richelieu, transformed the city into a thriving center of commerce and culture. Its Opera House, and the Potemkin Stairs, are world-renowned, while its tree-lined promenades and classical buildings painted in pastel hues invoke another era. Life on board our floating hotel will be as exciting as the ports you will be visiting. Our first stop, Sevastopol, is home to the Russian Navy's feared Black Sea Fleet. Closed to foreign visitors until the early 1990s, Sevastopol today is a city of clean and orderly boulevards, neo-classical Russian buildings, and the unique Panorama Museum. As our ship sails from Sevastopol to Yalta, the optional bus excursion across the Crimean peninsula will take you to see the unique cliff-side fortress of Swallow's Nest. The historic Livadia Palace, the location where Roosevelt, Stalin, and Churchill decided the fate of post-war Europe, will be equally impressive. Stunningly situated between the Crimean mountains and the Black Sea, Yalta has been a major destination for poets, politicians, artists, writers, and the Russian Czar's family. Kherson is the gateway to the Dnieper delta. Here, you will board smaller boats that will take you to an authentic Ukrainian fishing village. A local family will host an al fresco lunch, accompanied with some improvised entertainment. Zaporozhye, a name that conjures up images of fierce, pony-tailed warriors, is also the home of the first independence movements of Ukraine. Here you will enjoy a tour of the city, and a visit to the unique Zaporozhye Cossack museum. The optional Cossack show will feature their horsemanship, weapon skills, and music. Home to Ukraine's favorite son, Taras Shevchenko, Kanev is both his birthplace and burial ground. After a tour of his museum, you will enjoy a special shashlik barbecue. There will be wine, entertainment, and a selection of songs performed by our enthusiastic flower girls. Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, is also recognized as the birthplace of Kievan Rus, or Russia. It came to be in 988, when Prince Vladmir the Great baptized the whole country and introduced Christianity to this part of the world. Today, it's a city of wide boulevards, giant chestnut trees, and a smiling and youthful population. The people are friendly, the city is beautiful. We hope you have enjoyed our short intro to Ukraine. we also hope we will have the pleasure of your company in the nearest future, as we sail along the beautiful Black Sea and the romantic Dnieper River. Metallica - The Unforgiven III [Lyrics]

07:42
The Unforgiven III Metallica How could he know this new dawn's light Would change his life forever? Set sail to sea, but pulled off course By the light of golden treasure. Was he the one causing pain With his careless dreaming? Been afraid, always afraid, Of the things he's feeling. He could just be gone. He would just sail on He'll just sail on. How can I be lost, if I've got nowhere to go? Search for seas of gold, How come it's got so cold? How can I be lost? In remembrance I relive. And how can I blame you, When it's me I can't forgive? These days drift on inside a fog Thick and suffocating. His sinking life, outside it's hell. Inside, intoxicating. He's run aground. Like his life, Water much too shallow. Slipping fast, down with his ship, Fading in the shadows. Now a castaway. They've all gone away. They've gone away. How can I be lost, if I've got nowhere to go? Search for seas of gold, How come it's got so cold? How can I be lost? In remembrance I relive. And how can I blame you, When it's me I can't forgive? Forgive me. Forgive me not. Why can't I forgive me? Set sail to sea, but pulled off course By the light of golden treasure. How could he know this new dawn's light Would change his life forever? How can I be lost, if I've got nowhere to go? Search for seas of gold, How come it's got so cold? How can I be lost? In remembrance I relive. So how can I blame you, When it's me I can't forgive?
