Great job, though there's not enough time to enumerate the reasons but, you were fabulous. Keep posting and I'll keep watching. Also wanted to share this coupon i got it while reading a blog http://myfavouritevouchercodes.blogspot.in/2016/04/how-to-save-on-essential-summer.html

Since this is about pairing suit jackets with denim it would be nice to have a link taking you right into 1) what type of denim style works best, straight leg, normal cut, etc. and 2) the type of shoe/shoe style that looks best, Oxford, Chukka, Derby, Brogue etc.

Something about this guy...I wouldn't hang out with him, but there's something charming about him
andrea inzaghi (2 years ago)
congratulations, I absolutely agree with you and I have to add many tutorials are making this mistake:  it is a common mistake to wear a navy blue or likewise suit jacket with jeans even though many tutorials are suggesting it. The only way is to upgrade the suit into something similar to a blazer as you said. To me if you need to look casual with a suit there is only one solution- I do not know if you agree- WEAR VERY CASUAL ACCESSORIES and no tie at all. Like loafers, shirts, belts of bright colours and casual but keeping the suits entire. Yours gratefully.
Real Men Real Style (2 years ago)
+andrea inzaghi great piece of advice. I completely agree Andrea.
Antonio Smith (3 years ago)
If I am wearing a shirt no tie, should I button the jacket or wear open?
Flo Apponyi (3 years ago)
what colour should the pair of jeans have when the suit jacket is navy blue?? should i go with a dark blue?? many thanks
Flo Apponyi (3 years ago)
thanks for answering so quick ;)
Real Men Real Style (3 years ago)
+MLG ReZuRy A bit of contrast makes you look sharp - Jeans in a really deep midnight-blue or lighter shades of blue, grays, and more fashion-forward colors like white or red denim give a good contrast.
Lubomír Černota (3 years ago)
Mr. I am sorry, generally i do not comment on any forums or videos as I think it is childish to say "what ever on internet and feel strong". But have to say, every single picture I have seen of you, including the video, your suites are very bad fit, wrong collours, shirt does ft the rest etc. In general americans do not have sense of fashion (no offense to those who are americans and do look great), try to google "american man tie" and try the same "british man tie" :), americans which I have seen love flowers, little cars or what ever on their ties, I have seen your braun jacket on several videos (altough I have not seen several videos of you, but i see thumbnail in the menu of youtube), theer would be nothing bad about it but from man speaking about fashion and style I would expect more invention, if you want to speak about style for man go to england, italy, france, (in this order). Greetings from Europe (btw. i do work in one building with 64 nationalities, just so we are clear that I have a  good sample how people dress). Lubomir

Okay so I have a charcoal gray sport coat and very dark blue jeans, what kind of shoes should I wear with this outfit? I tried my gray sneakers but it looked too casual. What color should I get them in, I want it to be versatile. Suggestions? Anyway, great videos by the way!

Good stuff, but what if the majority of my jeans are somewhat baggy carpenter pants? I'm looking for a jacket just to kind of wear around. This is my main predicament, the kind of jeans I wear. I almost think I can pull it off with a nice trench coat, but I'm not sure.
Real Men Real Style (4 years ago)

Raul Kolk (4 years ago)
Was totally gonna do this with a gray suit. What about lighter jeans? Gray suit + lightish blueish jeans. Open buttons, light pink shirt (suit and shirt both have an awesome texture that make them work well together).
Real Men Real Style (4 years ago)
+Raul Kolk  You can give it a shot but the ideal choice is dark-fitted jeans :)
Nate Cejka (4 years ago)
Trunk Club has a great article about this on their blog called "The Difference Between Sport Coats, Blazers, and Suit Jackets", from Dec 2013. They make a great point about texture, as in the texture of jeans versus that of whatever sport coat/blazer/suit jacket you're trying to wear with jeans. Since jeans have a rougher texture the jacket should also have a similar texture. Typical suit jackets are smooth and thus these do not go well with jeans. I completely agree with this, a smooth and shiny formal suit jacket just does not pair well with typical jeans. Higher texture sport coats and blazers work better, tweed for example, and of course some suits are indeed made of higher texture material/construction and in that case, if you've lost the suit trousers and are trying to continue using the jacket, then I think jeans can work. They make a similar point about shoe texture and jeans.

One of the things I always love to see when I'm in an airport is business men wearing a suit jacket over jeans.  I hadn't thought before about why some look so great and others don't - now I understand.  I still just think it looks really classy and sexy, but in a dignified and powerful way! (By the way, I just found out about your YT channel from one of James Wedmore's videos)

Liked the video, I am trying to pull off, tweed (dark brown, briori) with dark jeans. And is working good. How about the shirts? Is Dark blue OK? Or should I go light?
Mike Ky (4 years ago)
Of course I clicked your link with high hopes ans a dark grey suit jacket in mind...  Oh well, thank you for sparing me the embarrassment!

I have a sports jacket like yours. Would that go with darker jeans? Or lighter?

I really like your videos and think you deserve more subcribers. But i think you shouldn't try to sell things until you get 200k or more subribers.

As far as I know, no. As I heard it once said, wearing a pinstripe jacket with jeans looks like you spilled sauce on your trousers and had to switch into jeans. It has to do with the pinstripe suit's very professional reputation. Some can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Watched most of your vids Antonio and loved it. Thanks so much for the great tips. I've just started working (college grad) and the dress code is semi-casual. Can you please make a vid on it? I start working next Monday and I'm so apprehensive because I don't know what to dress for work!! :(

A wool sport coat goes very good with jeans :)
DodgyCAN (5 years ago)
Thanks for the videos Antonio. You said no to grey on jeans.I went shopping for blazers to wear with my dark blue Levi's,semi-skinny.I got one dark navy and one Varvatos navy plaid to return them the next day as for some reason I didn't think I pulled it off. Then I tried on my Hugo Boss suit jacket, dark grey, and it seemed to work better, especially when I rolled up the sleeves of the jacket.I don't know if I was fooling myself with this "faux-pas".What's your opinion on rolling up jacket sleeves?
J* D* Bulsa (5 years ago)
yes if you're over 25. go w/ dark blue jeans.

Thanks for the great advice. Can you recommend a dress shirt company/brand that make shirt with the first button is lower than traditional shirt. I don't like to button all the way to the first button. I find that restrictive. But if I unbutton the first button sometimes it's lower than I want. Can you recommend a slim fitting shirt/brand with the first button lower than the traditional of 3" length from the neck? 4-4.5" from the collar is perfect. Thanks. [email protected]

Ah, because you said you were short I just assumed the suit was big. Wear whatever your want to your performance (obviously some clothes are more or less appropriate depending on the venue), but just be yourself. If you go for a look that isn't you, it won't work for you.
Marchera XIII (5 years ago)
I prefer more illustration/pictures since i'm pretty new to all of this but still good video. Thank you sir
Andrew Hawley (5 years ago)
I prefer a suit jacket with jeans. It shows you're respectable, but layer back and not such a stuff.
TheRedWon (5 years ago)
Get that sucker fitted. You don't want to walk around in a big suit, you'll look like you got lost on your way to prom.
SoldierAtHeart (5 years ago)
Curiosity, what do you think about a dark grey dress shirt with black everything else (trousers and blazer)? If it helps give you an idea, I'm white with reddish tint and dark brown hair. Personally, I like the grey and black but since you're the fashion dude here I might as well try a second opinion. lol
Fabio BG (5 years ago)
Love your videos. My only suggestion would be to show some of those suits and trousers together on such videos. I am sure you have some of them handy and it would be great to see what you are talking about. Even so, the information is great and you help so much. Thanks.

Hey Antonio how does a guy go about getting your classic hair style.
dylan (6 years ago)
It looks like the right side of your jacket collar is different from the left. Like one side is pointed, and the other side is rounded.
HZcyber (6 years ago)
Great Video. Iam 21 years old. The video teach me alot. Now as a adult, I really need suit jacket. Cause I love t-shirts and hate wearing button long-sleeves shirt. So how much really is suit jacket?

We are upgrading the quality here this Fall - great suggestion sir!
peskypossum58 (6 years ago)
Love your videos (and websites) Antonio. I've learned so much in the past 3-4 months since I stumbled across your vids and had a few chuckles along the way as I dig your SoH. One suggestion: perhaps right at the end, put up a summary page bullet pointing the main points of your presentation.
nikalas (6 years ago)
Yes! Absolutetly! I am 23 and I usually use a black suit jacket, pale blue jeans and a white low cut tshirt with some gritty print on it. This way you look casual but still like you're a bit "above" the avarage guy. Gets me laid every time. or maybe it's just cuz I'm a rockstar...
dusty558 (6 years ago)
hey im 25 and want to wear my sgrey suit jacket to my sisters christening in the next few days im wondering what colour jeans and what colour teeshirt will go with them and shoes or dressy shoes like vans to go with?? be great to get an answer back off you by the next 2 days ,pity i only found you now thanks ..
Greg (6 years ago)
I've a dark grey, narrow pinstripe good quality suit jacket. On nights out ie. pubs, bars and clubs I've been with a fitted black t shirt, dark regular fit jeans and black shoes. Do you think that I've got the right idea? I'm 22 and masculine looking.
Dhruv Kakkar (6 years ago)
hey. what about grey suit jacket with black jeans ? will it look good ?
jakeandbake (6 years ago)
medium-light gray jacket with light pinstripes. go or no-go? it's from a custom-tailored suit that i inherited from my grandpa. the jacket fits amazingly, but the pants are way too slim and is totally the wrong style for today's tastes. that's another thing, should i invest in getting the pants re-tailored or is it a lost cause?
colomblanco (6 years ago)
who's Joseph Bidden?
Bustsofa69 (6 years ago)
I'm 27, tall, slim build, slight receding brown hair. Looking for a "jacket" to wear with jeans, shirt, sweater and boots. Smart, yet relaxed, casual type look for going to a bar, not to dressy. What kind of Jacket should i look for with regards to type, material, fit, color etc? Thank you in advance.
James Ha (6 years ago)
more people need to subscribe to you.
Real Men Real Style (6 years ago)
Yep. I'd go with dark, close-fitted jeans and a dark, solid-color T-shirt, but that's a pretty normal casual look these days.
JustinSimm90 (6 years ago)
Great video, but I have a question. I'm 21 so I'm a younger guy. Could I pull off a Suit jacket with a T-Shirt and jeans to say a semi casual to casual bar or night club? Thank you!
Real Men Real Style (6 years ago)
A tailor can unpad a shoulder, but you may end up with loose cloth. That takes a bit of adjustment at a tricky place in the garment, so make sure you've got a skilled tailor (and expect to pay a bit more for it). As far as the button goes, I wouldn't worry about it unless it's a very dressy-looking jacket that you think needs to seem more casual. Or, of course, if there's a style of button you like -- leather braid or something like that.
Prama Aditya (6 years ago)
*look less like
Prama Aditya (6 years ago)
The jacket's button, it's not odd-looking really,I just notice in your video. You said if the button is changed it would like less like a suit jacket so people won't notice. And the jacket comes with padded shoulder, not really my favorite type because I already have broad shoulder. I was wondering if my tailor could take the pad off, what do you think?
Real Men Real Style (6 years ago)
The button on the jeans, or the button on the jacket? Either way I can't think of why you'd need to change the button, unless it was a really odd-looking one.
Prama Aditya (6 years ago)
Hi, I really love your videos. I've been watching your video a lot. I have a Black Suit jacket, and already altered to fit me quite nicely. It has small peaked lapel and padded shoulder. I want to wear them with jeans, should I change the button? or should I stick with the original button? Thanks
Real Men Real Style (6 years ago)
@inVINCEcible2k3 Most lines will have a "relaxed" or "loose seat" sort of option. If you need 'em you'll know it when you try the straight fit on -- it's much better to have the fit you need than to try and force yourself into something too tight because it's the "right" style.
V Esparza (6 years ago)
at the 7:00 mark , you mention about jeans , straight fitted jeans except if you're a big guy , what kinda jeans would you recommend for a plus size?
Real Men Real Style (6 years ago)
@thebum23 An odd (unmatched) vest should contrast clearly, so avoid anything too dark. You can button a blazer over a vest if you want to.
Jonathan W (6 years ago)
Hey, I got 2 questions: When wearing a black velvet blazer, would you recommend lighter or darker jeans? Also, it will be matched with a button down dress shirt tucked in with no tie, so do you generally close the button/s on the blazer or leave them open (2 button blazer btw)?
Real Men Real Style (6 years ago)
@whitewolf3999 Think you already answered your own question -- boots and a hat are the important accents. Close-fitted jeans and a gray, blue, or black jacket over a western or dress shirt and you're done.
whitewolf3999 (6 years ago)
With jeans of course
whitewolf3999 (6 years ago)
What kinda suit? I was kinda thinking of one with a lifted collar
whitewolf3999 (6 years ago)
How can I dress with a cowboy style kinda like Tim mcgraw with boots and a hat?

@Chronix74 Thank You!

Cool man. Thanks for proving you do not need ties. Looking good
Real Men Real Style (6 years ago)
@senore01 That's definitely an acceptable form of streamlining. It may look a little odd in a lighter-colored jacket, but in dark colors the absence will hardly be noticeable at all, and it frees you of some visual clutter.

@senore01 We've started to incorporate them recently -- some of the most recent videos have some photo floats and other graphics. Thanks for helping us improve this project!

Hi Antonio, a heartfelt THANK YOU as I've learnt a lot from your comprehensive videos. I pray that you're blessed with good health so you'd continue making these videos. I'm a 29 year old male teacher and I have got to say that when you're dealing with kids (instead of other fashion forward adults) everyday, you kind of lose a little of that sense of style. Thankfully, your videos help me touch base. So a huge thank you from me.
Bjorn van Sinttruije (6 years ago)
@RealMenRealStyle Will do Antonio, on your Facebook page!
Real Men Real Style (6 years ago)
@hbphotography700 Awesome - go for it and post some pics!
Bjorn van Sinttruije (6 years ago)
@RealMenRealStyle Might not be style advanced quite yet, but I have plenty of confidence so I'll definitely give it a go. I was inspired by Walter de'Silva (chief designer at Volkswagen) who, in a video for Leica Camera, dressed in a dark suit with cognac shoes. In the video, you see him walking through crowded streets and he makes quite some heads turn...
AnomalyTea (6 years ago)
Just to elaborate on the difference well-fitted, dark jeans makes... I used to only have whatever jeans were on clearance and could fit onto my body. I recently bought 2 pairs of quality, fitted, dark jeans (a dark blue and a black). That one change triggered several "why are are you dressed up" remarks, despite the fact that I was wearing a t-shirt at the time.
Real Men Real Style (6 years ago)
@hbphotography700 This will be harder to pull off as charcoal is close to black and perhaps too harsh for those shoes. It's very close to mixing brown and black - which is something only the style advanced can master. Or guys with a shitload of confidence. :)
Real Men Real Style (6 years ago)
@valueink Thanks for the comment - yea, once I can hire an editior full-time I'll try to add the pics!
Real Men Real Style (6 years ago)
@MDSguy You don't need black - did I say that? Dark blue is perfect for denim.
Nick K (6 years ago)
Informative videos but just as a suggestion, it would be nice if you start showing samples of the suggestions you make. For example in this video you could've shown some jackets to give us more visual sense of your explanations. Other than that you are doing a great job. Keep it up.
