Hey Nick, check out Smitty Custom Guitars: awesome
KyleCarrington (8 months ago)
You really hit it at 3:00 to 4:00 that was coliseum bro
Michele Marchiani (2 years ago)
Quick question: i have a thinline MIM cabronita with stock "fidelitron" pups. Will the lollartrons fit?
JustNickMusic (2 years ago)
+Michele Marchiani He might make them in both sizes, I'm not sure. Thanks!
Michele Marchiani (2 years ago)
i think they're quite the same size of filtertrons, so slightly smaller than normal HBs. I hope not, those lollartrons sound amazing
JustNickMusic (2 years ago)
+Michele Marchiani The Lollartrons are standard HB size. I'm not sure what size the fidelitron pickups are. Thanks!
Iggytommy (3 years ago)
Will Sergeant or Ian Macullough (sp.) ?
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
+Iggytommy Both.
Iggytommy (3 years ago)
Those pick-ups go nicely with that Muff fuzz.   You prefer Filtertron type pick-ups to the Fender wide field humbuckers, huh?
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
+Iggytommy They work better for me. I do like the sound of both.
Iggytommy (3 years ago)
I've just bought my first ever Telecaster style guitar.   I blame you.  I don't even like Teles.   I must have been watching too many of you videos.  ;p
Iggytommy (3 years ago)
+JustNickMusic - All your Teles seem to have rosewood fretboards? I've not really noticed that before. Why do prefer rosewood to the more common maple? I just dislike the look of maple fretboards. They don't look too bad when the body is light coloured in a similar tone like Butterscotch or Blonde finishes, but on anything else I just think they look odd.
Iggytommy (3 years ago)
+JustNickMusic - I'll send you a photo on FB.
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
+Iggytommy Pics plz.
Iggytommy (3 years ago)
It certainly is the darkside:  it's black with a rosewood fretboard.  Oh, and it doesn't have a silly skinny Tele headstock :p.  Rgds :)
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
+Iggytommy Sorry. Welcome to the darkside. :)
TheElwinC (3 years ago)
I would make 2 changes to this already wonderful guitar. 1. a P90 bridge pickup 2. a bigsby tailpiece
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
+TheElwinC Pat will make that for you!
Staffy Lee (3 years ago)
Dude, don't worry about the videos.  We are all watching because you have such a passion for this stuff - the music, the gear, the guitars, everything.  I for one geek out over new gear all the time so by all means share your stuff!  I'm glad you did as I've been thinking over recent times about building a solid body partscaster Tele with Filtertron style pickups and an old Bigsby tremolo I have kicking around.  I think this video has just convinced me to go straight for the thinline body and stick with the fixed bridges, which I love anyway.  Dig the pickguard by the way.
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
+Staffy Thanks!
Sebastian Keil (3 years ago)
Nothing like new gear day. I loved it, you were all over it. Did you make the lighting more dreamy on purpose? ;-) I like to know why musicians chose certain instruments, or what their relationship with the guitar is like/based on, be it a new guitar or something that is old an beat.
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
+Sebastian Keil Thanks, glad you liked the vid and lighting!
Fat Sugar Salt (3 years ago)
amazing and beautiful Nick…how do you compare the magna tone twilight with lets say that Princeton or magic amps vibro prince..they sound so close…Which should I get..Im in nyc thanks Rocco
TheJofrica (3 years ago)
Wow that is indeed a beautiful guitar.  I love how you're always stoked and excited about whatever gear your'e reviewing. That is the type of sparky enthusiasm this sleepy world needs these days.
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
+TheJofrica Thanks!
TheJofrica (3 years ago)
+JustNickMusic  You're welcome! Interesting pickguard, I like it!
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
+TheJofrica Glad you liked it, thanks!

I love your videos like this.  Love to hear your musings about gear.  Intelligence and articulation + cool gear always makes for a good video.
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
+Amid the Fight Thanks very much!
Justin P (3 years ago)
Man, that looks and sounds amazing. I've fallen in love with Tele style guitars recently and have been been dying for a G&L Tribute Bluesboy Semi-Hollow but this is making me want some Filtertrons. Maybe a Cabronita semi-hollow? I dunno, anyway, congrats and great video. Love the fuzz too.
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
+Justin P Thanks!
stratmagic (3 years ago)
congrats on that smoking ax-you deserve it-WOW!!
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
+vibrato6 THanks!
KyleCarrington (3 years ago)
man that is so you. i hear exactly what your saying. the tone of that guitar, its string-to-string clarity makes that fuzz tone HD bro. so nice for when you want complex chords to still ring out with massive fuzz gain and not be a disgusting wash of bad-jazz dissonance.
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
+KyleCarrington Thanks man!
KyleCarrington (3 years ago)
oh my goodness that sounds good. i wish i had something like that for those days where for whatever reasons, your love for single coils & p90's....is... well "faltered" - and "fuzzed out" -- and you wish only for a trip into crystal clarity. Incredible. That thing is a Gretsch killer.
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
+KyleCarrington Thanks, I agree!
Josh Doty (3 years ago)
Nice playing. Really sounds great. Peace.
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
+Joshua Doty Thanks!
zamircaleb (3 years ago)
That is the most beautiful guitar I've ever seen. And that neck pickup is just unbelievable - the best neck pickup I've ever heard. So glad for you Nick!
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
+zamircaleb Glad you like it! I sure do, thanks!
Anthony Cox (3 years ago)
does he make basses? I would be curious
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
+Anthony Cox Sure does!  http://www.coopguitars.com/guitar-store/guitar-models/62-j-style-bass/  You'd like Pat--very smart, nice guy.  I should introduce you even if you aren't interested in a build.  He can also build straight-up custom basses.
Anthony Cox (3 years ago)
Beautiful sounding and looking guitar, but hey, the man playing it  has ALOt To do with it.
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
+Anthony Cox Thanks Anthony!
Paul (3 years ago)
your lessons are awesome. could you please make more. I don't really care too much about gear and i'm happy with what I have but you know how to teach and you can play great. I'm looking for more of your instructional vids. PLEASE MORE!thnks
Paul (3 years ago)
+JustNickMusic Great, looking forward to them!!thank you.
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
+Paul allan Yep, much more of those coming soon--just had to get caught up on some gear vids. But I love making the lessons--it's like jamming with...YOU.  Thanks!
Robert Cooke (3 years ago)
That is an absolutely stunning guitar, looks and sound. Thanks for the vid. More and more over the last few months I've been convinced that my next guitar will have some sort of -tron pickup(s).
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
+Robert Cooke Yep, love the pickups and guitar. Thanks!
JFunk (3 years ago)

Sexy guitar man!!! What delay/ other pedals Are you stacking on the fuzz?
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
Thanks!  TC Flashback and HOF with Toneprints I made myself.
tommc49 (3 years ago)
PSA for anyone ready to buy:   Went to the Coop website and found that they have raised prices effective 11/12/14.  BUT, if you sign up for their email list, you can get Black Friday pricing on guitars he has ready to ship.  $800 off price shown on website; offer good until Black Friday.  Sadly, nothing with Lollartrons available, but  there is one thinline..... hmmmm.
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
+Collin Hoffman Also, his customer service is ridiculous--he routinely pursues clients AFTER the sale to make sure everything is exactly as they want it to be.
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
+Collin Hoffman Don't say I didn't tell you to get in early when no one new what a Coop was!  Dude is building these by hand and it really shows. Thanks!
Collin Hoffman (3 years ago)
Wow... I guess.  A $1,000.00 (54%) price increase?  Too bad.  Under 2k is a sweet price point for a lot of people, once you get into the 3k range you really start to price out consumers, especially when Coop's competitors are still at that 2k price point.  I'm assuming he has measured that his reputation has grown sufficiently to support such a high price hike, but I'm not so sure.
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
And thanks for the comment!
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
Yep, mine is a custom build but...Pat can do that for you too!
Corey Mineard (3 years ago)
Another great video, Nick. Congrats on the guitar, she's a beaut! I can't wait to hear all the music you will make with that new Nick-Caster!
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
Thanks Corey, much more to come!
Phil Albinus (3 years ago)
Self indulgent? Hell, if someone made a custom guitar for me I'd never shut up. Thanks for sharing. Love your videos.
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
Thanks Phil!
tommc49 (3 years ago)
It's like you have read my mind;  that's the exact guitar I would like to get.  Thinline, Lollartrons, rosewood board.  Sounds fantastic.  I wouldn't worry about being boring or rambling; those who don't want to listing can click off.  Looking forward to hearing more of that guitar.  Enjoy.
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
You'll be hearing A LOT more of it!  You should totally get one. It's such an excellent combination. Thanks!
Stephen Edward (3 years ago)
Nothing wrong with self indulgence.. my Fender American Deluxe Thinline Telecaster: http://youtu.be/PQ2UDqkOv4Q
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
Awesome sounds, playing and guitar! Thanks for the link!
ahhcrickets (3 years ago)
Seen this video posted last night and couldn't wait to check it when I had a chance. I like that you now have an official signature model. Sounds great and looks cool too. I'm happy for you, Nick!
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
+ahhcrickets Thanks!
Asillyhobo (3 years ago)
Nick, there's nothing self-indulgent about 'sharing' and live demo'ing some of your new gear. If anything, it helps everybody get perspective on gear we may or may not have been considering. Kudos on the thinline cabronita.
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
+Asillyhobo Thanks!

Angel Martinez (3 years ago)
Beautiful guitar. Plays fantastic. How much do they go for? I am thinking of a Thin Line. What kind of pickups are those?
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
+Angel Martinez Thanks! Talk to Pat at Coop for pricing. Amazing for what he is doing.
lesserhasbeensmusic (3 years ago)
Nothing eats up fuzz like a filtertron :D The combination of hum cancelling lower output and rolled off low end and even a (or your in this case) 10" speaker won't choke. Well done as always, Nick! I look forward hearing more from this one. ~B
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
+lesserhasbeensmusic Thanks Bob!
johnie smith (3 years ago)
Keep up these kinds of videos Nick! The "informal" blabbing provides a little variety. Besides, I feel like I just watched a kid open up his Christmas present. Man, I reeeeeally want Coop to build me a light relic'd blue 62' S style like you demo'd before. Sigh.... someday.
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
+johnie smith Thanks!
james morton (3 years ago)
Well, I enjoyed hearing about your new guitar.
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
+james morton THanks!
David Dawson (3 years ago)
Love it! Beautiful guitar - congratulations!
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
Thanks!
LowlyOcean (3 years ago)
Thanks for revealing, how nice to see the tone controls situated like that on a Thinline making volume swells possible. Why do most Thinline Telecasters have the tone controls in a different location from a solid body Telecaster ?
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
Just the design I think. You can do swells on those too, just gotta stretch a bit. Thanks!
George Ryan (3 years ago)
I love just watching you play. I get to steal your mojo for myself.
JustNickMusic (3 years ago)
You don't need MY mojo, I need YOUR mojo!
swuzzups (3 years ago)
If it's "super annoying", people don't have to watch/listen. (Dig the bridge on that there baby.)
