BATTERSEA POWER STATION, LONDON There are two identical decommissioned coal power generating stations at the Battersea Power Station in south London, which is located along the Thames River. The first station, known as Battersea A Power Station, was built in the 1930’s; the second, Battersea B Power Station, was constructed during the 1950’s. 7. WOLA GASWORKS, POLAND The abandoned Warsaw Gasworks, also known as the Wola Gas Company, is one of Europe’s, and perhaps the world’s, most pristine examples of late 19th and early 20th century industrial architecture. You know, if you're into that sort of thing. The neoclassical structures that make up the complex were built in 1888. They were destroyed during World War II, in 1939, and were thereafter immobilized. 6. PATAREI PRISON, ESTONIA On the outskirts of the Old Town of Tallinn on the north coast of Estonia lies Patarei Prison. It was originally built as a sea fortress in 1820, but was used as a high-security prison facility by the Soviets during their occupation of the country from 1944 to 1991, and was considered one of the scariest places in Estonia. 5. ARGENTIERA, SARDINIA, ITALY Argentiera was a silver- and lead-mining town on the Italian island of Sardinia that thrived into the 1940’s. Silver had been mined here since the ancient era of the Romans and Phoenicians, and was an important commodity within the Roman economy. 4. GEAMANA, APUSENI MOUNTAINS, ROMANIA Located near Geamana, the Rosia Poieni mine was once Europe’s second-largest copper mine and employed around 500 people. During the 1970’s, copper was discovered in the hills above the Romanian village of Geamana. In the spring of 1977, the villagers’ lives were turned upside-down, as representatives and prospectors working for the then-dictator Nicolae Ceausescu arrived and essentially told them to pack up and prepare to move elsewhere. 3. BURLINGTON BUNKER, ENGLAND This 35-acre underground property in England was kept a complete secret from the public until it was decommissioned in 2004. Unbeknownst to even the local population, it was located 100 feet underneath the churches, homes, and cobblestone streets of Corsham, a quaint market town in Wiltshire. The already-existing set of limestone caves underneath the small city made it an ideal location for the bunker. 2. CIUDAD REAL CENTRAL AIRPORT, SPAIN When you think of creepy abandoned places, one of the first things that probably comes to mind is an old, decrepit building. However, that’s not always the case. Located 120 miles (200 km) south of Madrid, Spain, the Ciudad Real Central Airport was in operation for just three years before it closed in 2012. 1. CZESTOCHOWA TRAIN GRAVEYARD, Poland In the city of Czestochowa (Ches-to-kova) in Poland, there’s an abandoned train depot that was once a bustling transportation hub that connected the Warsaw-Vienna railway with the rest of Europe. The railway opened in 1846 and is one of the reasons the city became one of Russian Poland’s leading industrial centers. I feel like Estonia has gone through a looooot of darkness compared to their Finnish siblings- who choose to stay in the dark and only venture out to get cheaper alcohol from Tallinn

I know only one of the places listed in this video: the Sardinian Argentiera. But I know it like my pockets. You know ... about all the images that accompany the video segment concerning this place, IT IS NOT ONE, ONLY ONE, THAT COMES FROM IT. But we probably should not expect much fidelity to the truth ... from those who live on the credulity of 2.6 million members. 🙄
Davy Jones (1 day ago)
Ok @Karlie McMullen , I believe that now the best way to close it is "Everyone has their own point". Discussing with you was a privilege but now I really have to go and pay a little attention to my geranium. Bye. 🤗
Karlie McMullen (1 day ago)
@Davy Jones My point is that the best quality stuff is copyrighted. She can't use the best quality stuff. That's why she uses generic photos and things. Its still no reason to question her loyalty to truth or to think lesser of her fan base.
Davy Jones (1 day ago)
I'm a user, @Karlie McMullen ... not a video editor. I don't know if that can tell you something about the fact that what you say is not my problem. To each his own role. And in my role as a user of information, if you don't mind, I prefer to use the best quality stuff. It is for this reason that the only reason I returned to this page was notification of your response. Otherwise, for me, Origins Explained could have continued alone with its 2.6 million gullible.
Karlie McMullen (1 day ago)
@Davy Jones Ya, a lot of the images aren't the real place. Its understandable. Most images are copyrighted. I've seen youtubers get strikes for a singke copyrighted image in their 20 minute long videos. Again, its probably to avoid copyright claims. Trying to avoid copyright is no reason to question her fidelity in the truth.
Davy Jones (1 day ago)
@Karlie McMullen , your plea is virtuously altruistic, in favor of the editors of this video but, I would like to remind you, in Youtube the visual part is fundamental. So, if in a video titled "CREEPIEST Abandoned Places In Europe!" I FEEL TALING about unequivocal locations WHILE I SEE SLIDE IMAGES OF PLACES AND ENVIRONMENTS, I wish I had not insulted my intelligence in realizing that speech and images have nothing to do with each other. There is another commentator, Sky Wanderer, below, who noted what I also found about another location. This makes me think that most of the images we see may have nothing to do with the places the speaker is talking about. I understand that a talk on a black screen or with the image of Donald Trump on a bicycle would not have received the same favor but ... well ... it is precisely for this reason that I mentioned the credulity of 2.6 million people who do not they have the same needs of truth that I have. 🤨

Not really liking the background music, it makes it seem as if sometimes something's wrong with the microphone. Your pronunciation of "ciudad" sounds like you're trying too hard

I went to Argentiera in Sardinia, Italy because my dad had enough of England and decided to move there. It was so weird wondering around the parts where no one lives but also a reminder of how many building go unused yet we still cut down forests for more buildings 🤷🏼‍♀️ Also that awkward moment when you live in Devizes, Wiltshire but you’ve never heard of the Burlington Bunker - guess where I’m going during the holidays
