I'd love for this to occur in the final season of clone wars next year!

That could be where Darth Malgus was kept hiden.....

I just wanna win Darth Maul's double bladed lightsaber. Then, I'll be at peace. Also, make a video on 'What if Darth Maul was reformed and/or joined the Rebellion?' That'd do the trick.
No Wallet (8 months ago)
If i was a Jedi Padawan i would explore that and stay there all the time. It is a shame we could not see it in the Clone Wars T.V series in the planned episode where Asohka would travel there.

This totally explains why Jedi were having so much trouble sensing the dark side. They were getting on to something sensing something within Palpatine but it took them forever to even see something. They forgot they were on Sith ground, so the darkness would cloud them BUT i think Palpatine made the sith shrine stronger so the Jedi would be even more clouded. This could also explained why snoke and Kylo Ren destroyed Coruscant as one of the planets they destroyed with star killer base. It has been known now that snoke and kylo are not sith, were not calling themelves sith, they were destroying the Sith "legends" as well as killing the innocent on the planet. In the last jedi, Kylo has told Rey to let the past die. He has let the past die from himself, hence going back to destroying the Sith Shrine on coruscant, blowing up the whole planet. Snoke has been saying to let the past die to Kylo, and snoke died by Kylo which goes back to letting the past die ect. Kylo is moving on from the whole sith and jedi thing, which Luke has done but on the Jedi side of things. I think Luke and Kylo were sensing each other thoughts without knowing which goes to why they were both destroying their past and Luke giving himself to the force and dying and is the last jedi.

The fact that the Sith shrine was built before the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, the freaking capital and birthplace of the Old Republic that last over 20000 years, a traditional ally of the Jedi, is simply dumb.
Quinsareth (11 months ago)
In one of the Yuuzhan Vong books there is a place beneath the ruins of the Jedi Temple encased in duracrete that when cracked open unleashed a massive amount of dark side energy.

Who's the guy in the thumbnail though? He looks badass
The Plasmic Alchemist (1 year ago)
Makes perfect sense. The idea of a dark shrine leaking dark side energy like a lead-poisoned river makes for a sensible explanation for the Jedi's fatal flaw leading to their extinction.
Jahomey505 (1 year ago)
Dumb Jedi should’ve destroyed the shrine

Is this Cannon
Melissa Weeks (1 year ago)
Well considering corasnt (sorry for the spelling) was turned into an astroid field in the force awakens the temples no longer exists
Kristian Severens (1 year ago)
I think it is a nice connection to religions in the real world as in Jerusalem (A place many religions fight over, like the sith and jedi and many other people fight over Corusant) Christians and Muslims build their churches and mosques over the other religion's holy buildings. It also removes yet another loophole as to why the jedi were unaware of such a dark presence.
TheMemester439 (1 year ago)
Well, I don't think anyone's around the shrine now, since the first order broke the planet.
Kristian Severens (1 year ago)
If you mean the shot fired by starkiller base, that wasn't corusant.
Marc Weavers (1 year ago)
it makes sense, explains why Palpatine was able to hide his dark side from everyone including Yoda for so long.

Ralof or hadvar?

Ralof, all day

Reminds me of Wolfram and Hart. They needed to build their base of operations in the Earth Realm on top of particular Ley Lines, but there was a Shaman there that was making it a holy site. So they tortured, killed, and then desecrated the body of the Shaman in a dark ritual in order to make it an unholy shrine of power.

I seem to remember that in one of the New Jedi Order novels they discovered a force wellspring behind walls of Mandalorian Iron.

This makes sense, actually, & reminds me of al aqsa mosque, built on top of the temple mount in Jerusalem. Recipe for disaster, this is.
Jaestro (1 year ago)
I think it's fucking ridiculous that the Jedi had FORGOTTEN they had built their SEAT OF POWER above the relic of their NEMESIS! I feel that somebody would've just make small information-sign in front of the entrance of the temple, just giving a small note on the history of something so significant. Stupid Jedi... They deserved to fall.

absolutely the BEST SW CHANNEL!

I feel that both temples were destroyed due to them being connected to Palpatine

Who was the man who stole the knowledge of the force from an ancient sith order to become the first Jedi?
Ian Knight (1 year ago)
it absolutely should have been in the show, that could have added so much to Ahsoka's story and could have been an amazing episode.
Temp3st60 (1 year ago)
I'm sure Snoke has visited the old Sith temple in disguise. Maybe he'll bring Kylo there to complete his training as a Dark Side apprentice, maybe not. It would be awesome if they revisited the temple in the new movie.
Brendyn Robertson (1 year ago)
If the Jedi would've destroy the Sith shrine instead of building the temple over it, Palpatine would've been discovered as a Sith Lord long ago.
Lerone Lee (1 year ago)
I would love to see this story arc throughout the entire series.......It adds an historical truth we have seen here on Earth with every empirefrom Egyptian to the Greek/Roman.......Even in the Bible it tells how the Israelites built on the land of their enemies onlyfor Islam to be built over them......As for the fate of the Jedi/Sith temple on Corusant????????The light side to Gray Jedi in me would destroy it using orbital bombardment............BUT.........The darkness in me would love to study everything Sith...............
resistnzisfutl (1 year ago)
Hmm, I dunno, I think it's lame to think that the Jedi temple is built on a Sith shrine. That seems to contrived and arbitrary to me. I mean, what are the chances? Why would that happen? What would be more compelling is if perhaps Anakin's actions put a stain of the dark side on that location and taint it forever, kind of like how Dagobah has that.
Thang Hoang (1 month ago)

CuddleFIsh (1 year ago)
why do you end your sentence like you're reading a children story book
Yvonne Kershner (1 year ago)
the Jedi didn't forget about it, they actually studied it once they became masters.
Michael Beauharnois (1 year ago)
The Shrine was destroyed along with the planet by Starkiller Base
Ahhh jaok (1 year ago)
pls stop ending every sentence with such a weird Emphasis
Carlos El Gato (1 year ago)
i think they should of had more episodes in star wars the clone wars
Robert van Bergen (1 year ago)
Since you read every comment, I have some advice: Don't overdo the thing with your voice at the end of each sentence... It makes you sound like an idiot. I understand you want to do the standard video voice... but just stick to your own will ya;)
Josh Kuczak (1 year ago)
if there is a shrine for the sith/dark side. then the first order just destroyed their own shrine didn't they?
Alfredo Blandon (1 year ago)
This video definitely helped to further add the importance of the need to end the Jedi order as stated by Luke in the episode 8 trailer. Upon the Jedi constructing their temple over the Sith temple, they fall into the same "evil" tactic that would be applied by the Sith... Instead of destroying the Sith and their temples perhaps the right approach is to find balance in the force. Thus again, the importance of looking for a middle (gray) area between the light and the dark.

Quite shocking to remember that the Sith had taken Coruscant during the Old Republic. No wonder Palatine was able to sneak around so readily and that Yoda's vision was often so clouded. It makes total sense. It happens on this very earth that way as well. The dark side clouds everything. I wished they would have covered this during the Clone Wars and allowed Ahsoka to discover this.

You ask what became of the temple.... didn't the first order kinda destroy coruscant in ep7
Michael Simkins (1 year ago)
I like the idea of a sacred place hiding a fucking dirty secret, if it did not, there should be something wrong with that, every person and every religion and every culture has a dark element within to hide, it's human to have dark and light, even secrets! I for one, have a slew of secrets that I've kept promises to keep and will hold after my time on Earth or existence has ended, also... I go by a very famous saying and believe it, as well as practice it's purpose and meaning, "Knowledge is Power" and by keeping knowledge to myself, I become "Powerful"! So, when someone spells incorrectly and I correct it, I'm being quite generous with that knowledge gained via experience and using what I've learned in high school, one should be "lucky" and "grateful" that I'm doing that bit of service, but I should not be doing such a service as those who don't use what they've learned in school and slip into ignorance and complacency have only themselves to blame and should not reply to me with complaints which in case is really their own fault for not correcting their OWN errors, and for those who type and don't proofread and use spellchecker and correct their spelling and grammar or lack-thereof, you can either PUT UP OR SHUT UP!
Ganjanetisist (1 year ago)
since the planet was destroyed there shouldn't be any more with there...
licensed to chill (1 year ago)
I guess everything on the planet was destroyed by the first order's starkiller base in ep. 7...
Seth Houser (1 year ago)
With the new Star Wars Movie, the Sith temple is no more. It was blown up by Star Killer base, along with Coruscant.
Comanche Viper (1 year ago)
They actually address this in what is now known as the legends. Luke did discover the shrine. It was after the battle to retake croissant once the emperor was dead.
gmoney4980 (1 year ago)
I went straight back to this video after the Last Jedi trailer.
Stephen Suggs (1 year ago)
Honestly, the Sith temple add a lot of sense to the mythology. While it's understandable that generations of Sith scheming could reduce the Jedi's influence and insight in the force, it makes a lot more sense that SITTING ON TOP OF A SOURCE OF DARK SIDE POWER might have an effect too. In addition, it adds some clues about Snoke. It's a satisfying addition to the canon, imo.
Patrick Skeith (1 year ago)
Honestly the more intricate they make the prequel universe, the more stupid they make the Jedi order appear to be, lol. At this point, how could Master Yoda be so stupid for so damn long.
Lee Mc Donald (1 year ago)
interesting concept. makes sense that the Jedi would do that. it's not like stuff like that hasn't happened in reality. as for the Clone Wars series. Disney blew it. there was so much more that could have been done.
"What if" Luke found the nearly destroyed Jedi temple and Sith Shrine and used them to train new Jedi about the histories of both Jedi and Sith o teach them about right and wrong.
Oj Fiala (1 year ago)
i think its awesome it was there
Royal Hopper (1 year ago)
a good plot device but the Jedi should have destroyed it when they drove the Sith away.......The Jedi seem hopelessly naive and detached and overconfident That is always their weakness ..and they should have saved Anakins mother
Thomas Cotter (1 year ago)
was it blown up in episode 7?
Trey Mann (1 year ago)
You said what happened after the death on Palpatine is unknown when for a while it is but In the Force Awakens Coruscant was destroyed by star killer base. What happens for a while is unknown but we know it came to its destruction?
Douglas Fitzgerald (1 year ago)
Later in the (now not canon) books for the legacy of the force. The yazen vong and the jedi battle a sith who was basically entombed in that temple.
keith brown (1 year ago)
the dark side of the force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural

I feel like this is wrong but didnt the first order destroy coruscant? or am i Wrong.

It would have been cool to see it in clone war's or possibly its dark secrets revealed in rebels .

it would have been so much clearer if they had mentioned the shrine in the movies to explain why the jedis vision was clouded

Isnt the planet a giant city with 1300 plus levels? How is the Jedi Temple so old but on top? What level is the Sith shrine? Why has nobody built more levels in thousands of years? These things keep me up at night
Thomas Volz (1 year ago)
just wish it had made it into the more direct story of the moves it always feels like a patch, a good patch but still a patch to fill in another luckus hole in the plot.

It should appear in Clone Wars like Son of Dathomir, Siege of Mandalore and Dark Disciple

I like this thread of thought. The Romans did the same here. They built their Temples on Pagan ritual sites and the Normans did the same to the roman sites with their churches and Cathedrals.

TheLatiosnlatias02 (1 year ago)
I go for the books. Rebels sucks. Clone Wars and all Star Wars films (excluding Force Awakens) are great.

Didn't you in a previous video state that Palpatine kept under detected due to his force powers? I don't remember you mentioning this dark temple in it.
Hello Stupendous! What are your sources for these facts you presents?
MrArtPolice (1 year ago)
Nice videos man, but why is your accent the same as that guy that does top 10 videos or something?
War Machine 800 (1 year ago)
The shrine actually explains a lot that you hinted at. Why the Jedi's views were clouded and Sidious was able to hide in the temple was never made clear in the movies. Thanks for another great video and furthering my understanding of Star Wars.
I think it was good to include on TCW and the Tarkin Novel
Nate Schultz (1 year ago)
Would have loved to have seen it in clone wars.

I'd like to know more about the shrine maybe in the next show where they will have to use the period between ep 6 and 7.

clone wars
juhani (1 year ago)
this shrine you are talking about is actualy true. but the jedi where not defeted they controled many systems in the past but when they took back the capitol corusant they built the new temple over the sith shrine but the shrine did not shroud the jedis sences tho it was just palpatine who gained that power thru meditating there
FishikK (1 year ago)
I like it because it's another step in making SWTOR era canon. :)
Roosevelt Samuel (1 year ago)
would have loved to see it in the TV show
Darth Ungeon (1 year ago)
I'm gonna stick a big long comment in my replies below.  The influence of this shrine is huge and has left me with mixed opinions.  Stupendous Wave channel is fantastic entertainment!!
Darth Ungeon (1 year ago)
Not to be smarmy, but Sidious should obviously move the shrine to the Death Star after triumph over the Jedi.  It's funny how Sidious always leaves me with an impression of domesticity, coming from a well to do family, though murdering them.  Being molded through the attentions and "coddling" (such as coddling is to a darksider) of Plagueis, though, then murdering him.  And the a Death Star, a "home" for his legions.  Even though the shrine was his ultimate tool of influence, if I were a greater Sith Lord, I would not be compassionate about Sidious's obsession with security for the sake of growth.  I  think the rule of two really drives this behavior though, because without the option of an army of level-headed Sith followers why bother with anything more than this shrine?
Vraks (1 year ago)
Theory: Jar Jar Binks is hiding inside sith shrine and waiting for a right time to come out and show everyone that he is the strongest sith of all time!
Tom Vousden (1 year ago)
It would have been better to put it in The Clone Wars series. Would have given more dynamic and an even bigger influence for Asohka, giving her a reason to leave the Order, and something more for the Rebels series.
