This is worst way of using INSERT statement in SQL Better way is as follow Insert into tablename set col1=val1, col2=val2, col3=val3; This insert is like update statement and it works 100% fine

Hello i'm new here sorry for asking why you using cmd to create database rather than phpmyadmin? Is that because is it an easy way using cmd?, i dont mean to be rude or something it's because my english is not good enough.

When INSERTING values what value to put in "id" ?
E F X (3 years ago)
+Kerim Madison it is set to auto, so you don't insert any value for 'id'. This is why he is specifying the table columns in the parameter. If you didn't need to 'skip' the 'id' part, you could just insert into tablename values( val1, val2, val3, val4) but since the 'id' setting set up at the creation of table is set to auto_increment, you will need to specify the other 3 columns before including values. I haven't tested inserting manual values on an auto_increment column, however it may work? Test it out?
